Three active fights where constituent pressure is moving the needle on Capitol Hill today. Take two minutes to send all three:

Ban uncontrollable AI:

Stop the Yosemite giveaway:

Subpoena the Epstein files:

Done all three and then posted to Facebook.

Read the canal section twice. A local board found straw tubes on their own land, sued, and a judge told the richest government on earth to sit down first. That’s not a metaphor. That’s what winning looks like when nobody is watching cable. Restack it for the person who thinks courts only work one way.

Yes and that was a real-world, David-and-Goliath story! So many examples of ONE person or a small group/organization standing up to the behemoth corruption of our federal government. It is truly inspiring and energizing. Thank you, Scott Dworkin.

Sam, thank you for the good advice!!

The VA worker hunting for one executive order they could praise just to keep a shot at a job. That’s the detail I can’t shake. O’Toole didn’t need a movement. He needed that declaration.

Judy Sherwood's avatar

Shakes my trust in the whole blinkety-blink federal government.

Cathy R's avatar

It gave me hope that civil servants truly want to do a good job and not be political. Instead of picking any executive order the VA worker looked for one that they could stomach saying that they agreed with it.

You mean you still had faith??!

After the Doge Cuts, I have no faith in Whats left of the meritocracy! There is non!

Everything is costing more. Gas is almost up to $6/gallon, and my rent just went up $100/month. The only thing not going up is my income, which is almost entirely from Social Security and a couple of small pensions. I've been pulling money from my deferred savings to pay bills. Not good to have to dip into one's capital. We're worried. And we're not getting any younger.

I am looking at retirement soon but decided that keeping my job for as long as I can seems like the smart thing to do now.

I find that food costs go up every week, week after week after week........

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

I'm having trouble covering food costs and gas for the first time while Trump just goes merrily along. I read this morning that Don Jr.'S wedding was paid for by a Putin linked Russian oligarch!

Thank you, Scott. This is excellent news. We need every victory to be promoted and celebrated, as you do!

My cable bill, which is TV & internet, only, keeps rising higher & higher every year.

I use the same equipment & those costs go up. I suppose the reason is that they just want bigger profits to pay bigger salaries to their CEO and executives.

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

Abdul El Sayed, running for US Senate here in Michigan, has proposed making the internet a public utility. With a public board to regulate them!

Allyson Ross Davies's avatar

EVERYTHING costs more now than it did a year ago…the reason is obvious to anyone who pays attention: the Trump administration’s failed or non-existent ‘policies’ affecting both domestic and international economies

It’s even worse than that. Dump is following the Project 2025 manual in which there is a mission to reduce the population. Sully our food, reduce access to healthcare, instill doubt in vaccines, etc.

He only cares about him$$$elf and seems to be fully on board with P25. Dangerous times.

We must keep pushing, networking, and voting.

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

All we have gained is the ill will of our former friends!

Let's see - what isn't costing me more since demented Donnie has been hustling America? Electricity and gas prices are number one. Groceries - especially meat costs more.

I no longer attempt to pray for Satanic Donald and his administration. Satan is doing a super happy dance around all of them. I bet even Satan didn't think Demented Donnie et al could sink so low.

Michelle K Irwin's avatar

Gas Prices!!!! I applaud CA for clean burning gas, but it comes at a higher price. We are up to $7 a gallon out here on NorCal coast... Diesel at $10

What hurts a lot is to hear Don-Old blame Ukraine for bombing Russian refineries. US doesn't get oil from Russia!!! Lack of US support for Ukraine is idiocy wrapped as diplomacy!!!!

Have a great Monday, you all....

Virtually everything’s more expensive. I spend a great deal of time on the phone negotiating how to pay my bills. My self-talk is basically “what can I live without?Do I need to stop watering my plants and my lawn? Can I live in the dark and unplug the TV? Will my dog and cat eat the cheap food I buy? How many ways can I do what is necessary by walking instead of driving my car? Can I cut my own hair? Lastly, is it sinful to pray that Trump is found to be unable to complete a sentence. Let alone a presidency?

I love hearing all the ways large and small that "we the people" are fighting back. ¡El pueblo unido jamás será vencido! (The people united will never be defeated.) It began, IIRC, in Chile before Allende was overthrown in 1973 and has spread widely since then. Which is why I've never forgotten the words.

Joan Boling's avatar

What is costing more.? Everything, gas, electricity, groceries etc, at least water bill didn't rise. WHAT A world we are experiencing, yea ti the Irish. Need more here, and more allies to assist.

Scott, I just heard russia funded trumpee juniors wedding?????

Connie Spence's avatar

Gas and GROCERIES! Federal income taxes too! We got killed this year.

Cathy's avatar

Every frigging thing is more expensive! 😡

Kristen Tikkanen's avatar

Thank you, Scott, for the good news starting the week the best way! Fuel -gas for the car, gas and oil for the house-is taking a big bite out of my budget; and like most people, my income is not matching the pace. Fewer trips, fewer purchases, and making do with what I have... that is the "Golden Age of DonOld's Felonies".Taco Tuesday tomorrow, what will he flip on?

Jane Ward's avatar

Let’s see…groceries, utilities, gas, and every other item which is necessary for us individually. I do worry. But I refuse to complain because I don’t have children to worry about, I’m well, and I’m not responsible for taking care of another person.
