Trump Won This County By Twenty. He Just Lost It.
A judge he picked turns on him, a law he couldn’t stop, and election losses in places he thought were safe

A Trump Judge Sets Wind Free
The law says the Pentagon gets to review every wind farm before it goes up, to make sure it won’t interfere with military radar. For fourteen years that sign-off has been slow—taking about a year—but routine.
Last August, the Pentagon stopped signing off altogether. It wasn’t denying any wind farms, or saying they were problematic. It just stopped responding. In December it halted mailing out paperwork. Then, starting in April, it cancelled all scheduled review meetings. Meanwhile, oil and gas projects zipped through.
And the Pentagon quietly took down the public website where you could see which energy projects were in a holding pattern.
A hundred and six wind farms were frozen in place, with nearly 35,000 jobs riding on them. And Trump wasn’t hiding why. He bragged that no “windmill” had been approved since his return to the White House.
But on August 6, Trump-appointee Judge Karin Immergut ordered the Pentagon to start the process again for wind energy. Immergut said the regime can’t pick which laws it feels like obeying, ordering Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to report to her every thirty days with proof that the reviews are moving again.
The blockade on wind is finally lifted.
Massachusetts Sets Doctors Free
On Monday, Massachusetts took a law off its books. In just 90 days, doctors can finally do their jobs.
For years now, the state has run a four-part test on any abortion that is performed after twenty-four weeks. If your situation didn’t check off one of those boxes, you couldn’t get it. Doctors didn’t pen the test—politicians did.
The new law throws the boxes out, replacing them with one standard—the doctor can act on their own judgment.
Part of why the law changed is thanks to Kate Dineen, who in 2021 was thirty-three weeks pregnant when doctors found her baby had suffered a stroke. Her doctor said she might be able to end the pregnancy “if you’re able to travel.” She was standing in her own kitchen in Boston, a mile away from some of the best hospitals in the country.
She told her story again and again, until the books were updated. Starting in November, that decision belongs to the doctor and the patient, not a checklist.
The Cameras Are Coming Down
You’ve probably driven by a Flock Safety camera without even knowing it. More than five thousand American cities have a black box on a pole taking photos of every plate that passes by. It’s keeping a record of what car it was and when it was there so police can use it to search later.
Then people started digging into the technology. In Redmond, Washington, dozens of residents filled a council meeting. They walked members through 51 security holes a researcher said he found in the cameras. That includes a button outside the device that made it so a stranger could take control over it. So the council voted to end the program and shut the cameras off.
In Bloomington, Indiana, they tore in half a $50,000 contract. In Tompkins County, New York—after steady pressure from residents—they cancelled as well. Then Ithaca and Saranac Lake did the same. In Shoreline, Washington, folks got ahead of things and had the city’s meeting with Flock called off before they could even begin.
This all started because people demanded answers. And thanks to them, the cameras were shut off.
Tennessee Just Started Flipping
Trump won Knox County in Tennessee by nearly 20 points in 2024. A Republican holds every countywide office there. But on August 6 people showed up to vote Republicans out of control of the school board. Democrats will hold five of the nine seats. Brandy Jenkins took one seat that Republicans held for eight years.
That same night, voters made the same choice by handing Democrats control of the Montgomery County Commission. Trump won that county by 18 points in 2024. Those results aren’t certified yet, and one seat’s close enough that Republicans could take it back. They’re counting on it.
No matter what, Republicans are losing in places they never thought they’d have to defend, which should worry their entire party. November is coming.
The Trump regime is counting on us never finding out about any of this momentum. That’s why most of what you just read isn’t on television. Silence is one of the few powers the regime has left, and we proudly take that advantage away from them daily.
We research our news stories, investigate corruption, and put it all in front of millions of people. Then we organize this community to put pressure on Congress by calling and sending letters—806,000 since November 2024. Plus we organize the largest social media operation ever against Trump.
We have 83 days to go, and everything we do is aimed at taking back Congress. I need 18 people to join us as paid subscribers. Support independent media that helps lead the fight against Trump, by joining us today:
Then hit the ❤️ like button and restack this edition. Somewhere out there is a person convinced that nothing they do matters, who has never heard the name Brandy Jenkins. Go introduce them.
Onward!
Scott
Republicans have spent decades building their local power bases. What seats in your own community do you think are likely to flip in November?
This community has sent millions of letters to the House and Senate since 2016. If you could hand-deliver one note to your Members of Congress today, what would it say? And why?
Tell me in the comments!
