That Pennsylvania win is wild — Republicans had a two-to-one registration edge and still lost by 97 votes. Feels like a preview

Democrats and Independents NEED TO GET OUT AND VOTE! No couch sitting this one out.

Julie's avatar

100%, Debbie!

Last November in a purple PA district, we flipped every red seat to blue including one that had not been Dem since the civil war!! School board, sheriff etc. I think purple/swing voters are going for moderate Dems. I won’t bring up the threat to the Dem party of the socialist/communist party bec that is too depressing.

Dancset's avatar

Forget the labels. Listen to what they hope to accomplish. Throwing the labels around as depressing is buying into Gop propaganda.

maggie towne's avatar

It’s not a threat. It’s a promise. It’s a breath of fresh air. If you’re going to view it as a threat then you are a downer!

R Bennett's avatar

Threats to my safety do bring me down, I cannot disagree with you.

Julie's avatar

That's great that you flipped every seat to blue in your district. I do agree with both Maggie and Dancset though. We have to stop the divisiveness in the Democratic Party (regardless of what "kind" of Democrat they are). We have to unite to defeat Republicans, and as I like to say, "I'm watching what you DO, not listening to what you SAY."

Purobi Phillips's avatar

The Scandinations have Social Democrats and our young generations are carrying that mantra. Let the government work for people because we are self governed by the people.

Great to read of those five folks under 65 who sued SC so they could vote by mail without a note from their employer.

Ordinary folks standing up to the king! True patriots!

Virgin Monk Boy's avatar

Republicans keep insisting there is a silent majority, but lately the silence sounds a lot like nobody showing up to vote for them. A Trump-plus-18 district flipped by 97 votes, Moms for Liberty got evicted from its own Florida clubhouse, and even a Trump judge told voter suppression to take its employer note and shove it. The lesson isn’t that victory is inevitable. It’s that 97 people can become history while 98 stay home believing their vote won’t matter. November is not destiny. It is attendance.

Rose Edgar's avatar

Voting is a right we all have so let’s use that right to vote. Without all our votes we can’t win, so please vote.

Julie's avatar

Agree, Rose. I vote in EVERY election, large or small. Also, although it is technically a right, voting truly is a privilege many take for granted when you consider not everyone in the world can vote and that we in the US could lose that right if we are not careful and engaged in our democracy.

Julian di Ciurcio's avatar

WE HAVE GOT TO GET TO THE VOTING POLES!!!!!! No doubt about it-- you cannot stay home and not vote!!!! That just does not work!!!!!!! VOTE BLUE!!! VOTE BUE!!! VOTE BLUE!!!

The list of losses keeps growing for the regime. Which one hit hardest for you?

Richard Class's avatar

The one where trump had to surreptitiously enter a catering truck and abandon his flying palace when traveling from Turkey to Britain.

Sandy S's avatar

And Richard, let us not forget that he had Natalie 'the human printer' by his side, while sending not only the whole press core off on the 'old' Air Force One decoy, but also two of his Cabinet Members - Rubio and Bessent ! So Presidential in making his decisions. Got to wonder what he would have done with Melania? :-)

Sam Jones's avatar

What a nightmare that whole story is becoming! 😱

I like those wins in Florida! Especially knowing that they are doing it without too much financial help from the DNC. I see the way Florida has been turning out protesters for No Kings Rallies, against book bands and school issues in general. Florida is looking pretty Woke to me! Love that! Would love to see the Big Money Bros lose their cash wherever they are spending it! Jolly says he is old school republican, I would love to see him run on things like schools that welcome all kids, fixing the insurance for Florida land owners, making sure retirees don't lose any part of their Social Security!!! :-)

“The data centers have found their guy in the Florida Governor’s race. Truly remarkable Byron Donalds keeps taking money from them in this environment. It’s clear who he’ll fight for, and it’s not us.”

Scott, I live in Florida and share your opinion that the upcoming elections are not going to be as close as some anticipate. DeSantis is not as popular now as he was at the beginning of his term. It will be interesting to see where he ends up next January. I’m more optimistic about Jolly’s chances.

Suzanne Crockett's avatar

Same, Brenda. I live just north of Tampa. And don’t count Angie Nixon out - who would have dreamed she would win that primary? SO glad I could vote for her!!

Dancset's avatar

DeSantis should go hide under a rock.

Wis's avatar

Did anyone notice? Trump voted by mail aGAIN.

Just an observation. I think commentary is unnecessary.

PeachBlossom's avatar

That comes under the heading of either "do as I say, not as I do" or "I'm the president, and I'll do whatever I want!"

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Right PeachBlossom! So let's show him he can't. Vote!!!!

Wis's avatar

I’m sure there are many, much more glaringly simple examples of hypocrisy and that trump considers himself above the rest of us, but this example serves the purpose well.

The man is a walking lie (shuffling, nowadays). He’s no longer even a good liar. I doubt his hypocrisy even occurred to him as he dropped his ballot in the mail slot.

Thank you!!! It's great to know that people like you will keep going and we'll all keep fighting to return our country to True Democracy.... Reading your post is always an uplifting way to start my morning. THANK YOU! robin gray

The seat that Branden Dukes won gives me great pleasure in the fact that the Democratic Party no matter who they ran never could win that part of Butler County is so red and red always won. But what everyone should focus on now is Mike Kelly who now appears to be very vulnerable because that is where he always got his highest vote count. So this means that for the first time in decades there is a chance that this seat can flip blue. So I just want to say congratulations to Branden for knocking on doors and also talking about the economy, and I also want to say thank you for Conor Lamb who went to Cranberry and also Erie to campaign so again I want to say Congratulations to Branden Dukes and continue to do your outreach and show the voters that you will be there voice and also let’s turn Western Pennsylvania blue again!

I am sick to death that in our country A LOT OF MONEY equates to being qualified/electable/worthy of being an elected politician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do we/when will we get money out of politics??????!!!!!!!! Rich means YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!! When-the-fuck did that become our standard Mode of OPERATION??????!!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!!! MONEY HAS GOT TO BE TAKEN OUT OF OUR VOTING SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristen Tikkanen's avatar

A great way to start the weekend, Scott! 31 losses and counting! Pa. & Fla. are great wins, but if folks don't vote, they don't get to complain! This isn't a cakewalk, we have momentum and need to work like we're behind 5 points in the polls. Not counting on the accuracy, but it's a guideline, a measure to use for starting point! Take it easy today, and start again tomorrow! Happy weekend!

Suzannedvb's avatar

Stop destroying this country!!!!

Kat Hudy's avatar

That is a lot of Blue Wins! Thank you Scott! I could take this everyday until November! ❤️

It wouldn’t be fair to my local school board for me to comment. But I’m happy to comment on what I feel sure will be the demise of everything Trump. Let’s welcome the harmony of flushing toilets.

Sounds like a BLUE TSUNAMI COMING BACK AND IT IS A WONDERFUL THING‼️

I love these. "Just the facts, Ma'am." No histrionics.

As for FL, where I live, your analysis is the common one: Trump won by X%, but... But you're forgetting that DeSantis is a train wreck. And polls are notoriously unreliable. Even the most esteemed pollsters say that. I AM sorry Nixon beat Vindman, who I thought was a better candidate, in the primary, but we'll have to see.
