🌊 while Washington wrings 🫧 their hands 🙌 , Michigan grabbed a mop 🧹 ! One of the best lines The Dworkin Report has ever written.

🌊 🧹 are the chickens finally coming home to roost, y’all? 🐓 🤠

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

Ms Jonington,

Respectfully....

I hope the chickens are coming home to shit.

And I doubt I need to explain exactly WHERE!

(It would be nice to have some part of the WH that can be cleaned with simply a high-pressure hose.)

Sylvia Arrowood's avatar

I think the WH is going to need more than a high pressure hose to clean it. It needs to be disinfected, decontaminated and I don't know the amount of work to return it to its original beauty. But all the gold leaf in there and on the statues need to be taken away and used to recover costs.

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

Does Home Depot require receipts for returns?

Charlie's avatar

This is where the diversity of our country rides to the rescue: All the paths of exorcism lead to the WH.

Denise Palesch's avatar

How about those chickens target the McDonald’s Patio Memorial to the Destroyed Jacqueline Kennedy Rose Garden?

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

I wonder if we can presume that the chickens will be more organized and efficient with this attack than Trump was with Iran?

Yeah. Pretty sure, I'd say.

DillyDooBee's avatar

McDonald's Patio? THANKS! Appropriate label!

When MALARIA initially destroyed the ROSE GARDEN, there were reports that the dedicated gardeners preserved those rose bushes.

Let's hope that true and that the monstrosity these tasteless BOOBS created can be restored.

Denise Palesch's avatar

Thank you, Dilly!

Just the hope of it makes me happy.

Any gardener worth the name would do that. @Norm Eisen said today Trump’s name is coming down from the Kennedy Center.

Little points of light, as @Glenn Kirschner calls them.

The gate fees at NP go right back into maintenance and projects for the parks. The park system is a treasure. It’s heartbreaking to see funds stolen for any reason.

Cheryl Johnson's avatar

I don't live anywhere near a National Park, but I'd love to see a protest outside a park informing visitors that Trump is steal funds meant to maintain that park for his vanity projects!

Susie's avatar

He is stealing funds from anywhere and everywhere he can get them! He is a one-man crime wave aided by his corrupt cabinet and the House and Senate members who roll over for him because they think it will be personally financially advantageous to them. He is destroying lives in the process. He is the Destructionist in Chief.

This brings “tax the rich” to a whole new level: tax the wannabe rich (on ill gotten gains).

Denise Palesch's avatar

Feel free to write a little bill to tax the overpayment on the Reflecting Pond contractor for 100 percent above standard rates. I’d like that $850,000 given back to the US taxpayers.

Dian Larkin's avatar

not really Trump doesn't pay his taxes or his bills - cute idea but it won't be effective - he will have the money and we won't see a dime back THE ANSWER IS NO WITHDRAW ANY PROMISE TO GIVE HIM THIS MONEY we the people say NO

Michelle K Irwin's avatar

As a former NPS Park Ranger I am appalled that the NPS funding/entry fees can be used for Don-Old's DC vanity projects at inflated costs. From behind the scene at NPS it is always a painfully stretched budget for repairs and refurbishments... The $$ paid by the people to be used for the people's own parks!!!! ... Unbelievable!!! In the meantime keep on keepin' on... And get out the mops... Lots of cleanup on aisle 47!!!!

Nicole E's avatar

I am so happy to vote yes on banning monopolies and corporate money in our politics! Bring on that mop.

DTE bills are getting crazy.

Sally Lyberger's avatar

YES!!!! This is it!! We’re all backing the action! 🧹 🧹 Mop the WHOLE Nation!!!!

Thank you. I saw a professor and expert in authoritarian regimes and fascism say this period of push back caused by the authoritarian pushing very unpopular things is referred to as “autocratic backfire.” Let’s keep the pressure and resistance up!

Cheryl Johnson's avatar

I'm hoping that the engine fails catastrophically - not just backfires!

I’m feeling hope after reading your report. Thanks for your energy and savvy.

This may be unimportant in the scheme of things, but did anyone tell trump the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is NOT a *swimming* pool?

If not, let’s add a diving board and give trump the honor of being the first to dive off it.

Patti Scott's avatar

Leadbelly probably can’t swim

Wis's avatar

(Har!! Love it! It’s about 18” deep; if he dives into the pool, the problem with his inability to swim will be eclipsed by his head being smashed into a pancake. But if he survives the dive, he’s so dumb, he’ll drown trying to swim without realizing he could just stand up.)

Time to mop up the swamp!

Scott, I have my mop ready!

The question for today is have we ever made a call or wrote emails to members of congress. The answer is yes, all the time. And, 100% of the emails or calls have been un-answered. No matter the person, the party, the topic, not one return call, not one returned email. When I have gone to protests typically held at the Madison WI capital, I have gone into the capital looking for local, state or national reps to be present, and to engage in conversation with them. Not one of them has been around, office closed, away whatever. Wisconsin may be considered an even mix of R and D but they are not accountable in any way, not present in any way. Hoping the next election cycle changes this. I am sure WI is not alone in this but it is frustrating trying to get a voice heard in a climate of ignoring the people and hearing their issues.

⬆️"The question for today is have we ever made a call or wrote emails to members of congress. The answer is yes, all the time. And, 100% of the emails or calls have been un-answered."

I am currently represented by 3 Republicans - Tillis and Budd in the Senate and Tim Moore in the House. But before the NC General Assembly re-gerrymandered the US House map, I was represented for one term by Democrat Jeff Jackson. What a difference that made!

His staffers actually picked up the phone, listened to my concerns and were informed about his positions on the matter at hand. One time when I left a message after hours, the staffer actually called me back the next morning to tell me that she had gotten my message and would pass it on to Rep. Jackson.😲

On the rare occasions when I get through to a staffer for my current MOCs, they can only rarely tell me their boss's position on the topic about which I had called. Although interestingly, now that Tillis has found his spine (i.e., since he announced he was retiring) his staffers are much more willing to speak up about the Senator's stated views. Coincidence? I think not!

Jilda Nettleton's avatar

I have gotten emails back from my all reps everytime I requested it. Even when I don’t request it I’ve gotten emails back. I one of the we here too. This has been at both the state and federal level.

Anna B's avatar

I'm happy to say that most of the letters I send to my Senators are acknowledged! However, my Congressman (retiring and will NOT be missed) has never acknowledged correspondence. He was also one of the 'never show up at a townhall' cowards.

Charlie's avatar

I have received emails back from my (centrist) Democratic senators that were so generic (and so long delayed) I couldn't figure out what I had written to them?

They answer to the 10%, at best.

We need to talk to one another, so that when we show up we're there in big numbers. I think-I hope- politicians realize they shouldn't ignore big numbers!

Thanks, Scott! These stories are great!

There was a young man, at a table, in front of the grocery store yesterday afternoon. He had stacks of clipboards, holding petitions. He was beet red and sweaty.

I stopped to see what he had. I think it was eight different petitions. I signed six.

As I was signing, he asked if anyone was a T supporter. One man said yes. The young man said, I am too, on some things. The young man held back a couple of the petitions. The other signed his and walked away.

I told the young man, that he should be ashamed of himself! Did he even listen to what T says? The young man said, I only said that to get him to sign. Most of the petitions were anti-T. But two of those petitions would have benefited only the morbidly rich and morally bankrupt. One favored fossil fuels and the second would cap our state income taxes at 4%. They both sound like they are protecting the average citizen. BUT capping the income taxapplies to billionaires and millionaires too. Subtlety allowing more consumption of fossil fuels would only slow research and development of renewable energy.

Petitions are powerful tools for Democracy. But read the entire petition before you sign!!!
