Finally the SCOTUS does one thing right. No confidence they will preserve voting rights. They are too connected to project 2025 & restricted voting is one of the gosls. Hoping the James & Comey are vindicated in these ridiculous prosecutions.

I LOVED the scene of people marching to Mike Johnsons office chanting "Swear her in"! Adelita Grijalva is being held hostage by a dishonest, corrupt speaker. So much for being a "Christian". He disgusts me. It would seem the GOP is becoming ever more desperate.

It reminds me of how when Obama was president, they contested Al Franken's win and did not seat him in the senate for over a year.

Expand full comment
Megan Ross's avatar

Al Franken's election win was just insanity, because Franken's opponent, Norm Coleman, kept demanding recount after recount after he lost the election in Minnesota. Franken won by 225 votes, but Coleman just wouldn't accept the results. Finally, the Supreme Court in Minnesota unanimously ruled in Franken's favor and the turd Coleman finally conceded. Then, the Democrats forced him out 8+ years later because of some made-up accusation, before even investigating the facts. Go figure.

His Christianity bears no resemblance to the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. He cherry picked the Bible for verses that he likes. Those verses are not what Jesus said, they are mostly the laws that the Jewish people followed when they were wandering in the desert for 40 years. Put in that context, they make sense, but they are not ‘Christian’.

Absolutely. Johnson is as corrupt as they come…and soon this will catch up to him. I hope.

This seems to be true of many white Evangelicals, and of the Catholics who are so hung up on abortion (i.e., women's autonomy) that they miss nearly all of the teachings attributed to Jesus.

It’s poetic Justice that the many million$ despicable Alex Jones profited over the years spreading his malicious rightwing conspiracy theories were awarded to the Sandy Hook families who suffered from his egregious lies! Thanks to the appeals judge who upheld the verdict and damages!

Me too! But Obama wants nothing to do with being president again. He took enough crap while he served and deserves a break. I'm just happy to see him speaking out and throwing his support behind Prop 50 here in California!🇺🇸

Letitia James rocks! She is my new hero.

I am thrilled that the SCOTUS the right thing in refusing to hear Alex Jones’s appeal. He definitely needs to lose every penny he has. What an absolutely horrible person he is. You can only hope that karma gives him what he surely deserves.

As for Prop 50, I sure hope it passes. And I hope it starts a wave of other blue states taking the same or similar measures if it hasn’t already.

The tangerine terror needs to STFU about everything. I would not be offended if I NEVER heard his voice again EVER.

Let’s all do some good trouble!! Thank for your daily boost to my sanity, Scott. Good news is always awesome.

My sincere hope is that California will approve 50

Comey and James both did their jobs, upheld their oath, something GOP seems to struggle with

I just read that according to the Constitution, a Federal Judge can swear Adelita Grijalva in. JUST DO IT!!!!!! NOW!!!!! Watch Eric Swalwell's video! There are no Republicans working, at all! They are taking pay and Healthcare benefits! Swear Adelita in and RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES AND TRY THESE REPUBLICANS FOR TREASON!!!!

Here's an AI excerpt of the salient details:

"A federal judge can legally administer the oath. Federal law authorizes federal judges to administer oaths. While a federal judge can perform this function, the common and established practice is for the Speaker of the House to administer the oath to new members.

The Constitution does not prevent it. There is no constitutional or statutory prohibition against an official other than the Speaker, like a federal judge, administering the oath.

Historical precedent exists for alternatives. In the past, when circumstances have prevented the Speaker from doing so, other officials, including local officials or notaries, have administered the oath."

I think Alex Jones belongs in jail without access to the internet. And I fervently hope that Californians approve Prop 50. And I think--as long as Mike Johnson and all the other Republicans are comfortable not doing their jobs, why not have signs this Saturday calling them out and saying if they don't want to do their jobs, we're more than happy to fire them and find people who want to do their jobs. I don't want a King in America, but I also don't want Congresspeople who ignore their constituents and don't represent their best interests. We don't want to be ignored!!!

Alex Jones losing in the Supreme Court feels like the universe finally remembering to file its karma paperwork. Letitia James roaring through her indictment is the sound of conscience refusing to kneel. Meanwhile, Trump’s throwing tantrums over a magazine cover while democracy keeps asking for grownups to show up. Blessed be the ones still fighting with truth instead of tantrums.
