Trump’s Defense Is a Joke. His Economy Is a Dumpster Fire. And We Are Taking Him On In Every Way
Countering Trump with truth, action, and wins
Our resistance to Trump is not just sitting idle, it’s gaining ground—and the great news I’ve got for you here proves it.
The Dworkin Report takes a sledgehammer to Trump’s propaganda every single day, while mobilizing a massive coalition for the road ahead. So if you believe in independent journalism that fights back, please join us as a paid subscriber:
VACCINES WORK
Sen. Bernie Sanders hosted a “Vaccines Work” event yesterday, alongside leaders from organizations who represent more than 100,000 medical professionals.
Sanders was very clear: “We are now witnessing a full-blown war on science, on public health, and on truth itself.” He added: “Vaccines have saved millions of lives … prevented massive human suffering … Vaccines work. Period.”
RIGHT IN HIS FACE
Last night Trump decided to go out for dinner in DC, and it went horribly for him. He was booed as he walked into the restaurant. Inside, a small group of protesters started chanting: “Trump is the hitler of our time. Free DC. Free Palestine.”
Trump smiled awkwardly as he walked toward the protesters, tilted his head and jerked it back and forth wildly. He was obviously smoldering mad. Good.
SPECIAL ELECTIONS
Last night, Dem James Walkinshaw won the special election for Virginia’s 11th congressional district, replacing fmr. Rep. Gerry Connolly who passed in May. Walkinshaw won 75% of the vote, outperforming Dems in the previous 9 elections.
That’s a really good sign for the Virginia Governor’s race, where Democrat Abigail Spanberger is leading the charge to flip the state from red to blue.
Another special election will be held in Arizona’s 7th congressional district on September 23. In that contest, Dem Adelita Grijalva is favored to win the seat formerly held by her late father, Raúl Grijalva.
TALARICO RUNS FOR SENATE
Speaking of elections, Texas State Rep. James Talarico announced his run for US Senate yesterday. In an exclusive interview with me, he said: “There is a hunger for a different kind of politics. I think people are ready to turn the page on the politics of division and hatred and tribalism that we've seen for the last 10 years in this country.”
Talarico continued: “People want a politics that's rooted in those timeless values that every parent passes on to their kid. Honesty, sincerity, humility, service, compassion.”
TRUMP’S EPSTEIN SCANDAL CONTINUES
Dem Rep. Greg Casar called out Trump for his alleged birthday note to Epstein, stating: “Donald Trump said first this didn't exist, and then we found it. And now he's saying he didn't sign it … it's like the bank robber who’s caught with a bag full of cash and says ‘I'm not the one who robbed the bank.’”
Eventually, I hope Trump’s enablers in Congress will realize that they’re not just covering for their cult leader—they’ve become accomplices to Jeffrey Epstein.
SHUTDOWN LOOMS
Another government shutdown is looming. Sen. Elizabeth Warren says Democrats should use it to reverse Trump’s brutal healthcare cuts. “Democrats are out here fighting to try to get more healthcare coverage for Americans, and this is the moment to fight for it,” Warren said.
Democrats didn’t get anything out of the last showdown fight—they can’t let that happen again. It’s one of their few points of leverage this year. Walking away with nothing is not an option.
We’ll keep pressuring lawmakers every day with our massive Contact Congress campaign. And we’ll continue fighting back with our social media operation, which generated half a billion impressions yesterday on Twitter/X alone. And trended our hashtag #Trumpflation at number 7 on the platform.
We do all this on top of our hard-hitting daily news briefs. With no billionaire investors, no advertisers, and no corporate influence.
