The Musk and Trump madness can be unbearable at times, which is why I’m extremely thankful to be able to deliver more good news today. My hope is that it shows you there are many amazing people fighting this tyranny alongside us, and gives you at least a bit of relief from all the chaos.
Dem Sen. Cory Booker kicked off a marathon speech on the Senate floor last night, to push back against the Trump administration—and he hasn’t stopped since. Booker said, “I rise with the intention of getting in some good trouble—I rise with the intention of disrupting the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able.” This is exactly the kind of fearless energy people want to see from Democrats.
Today, there are critical elections that could be monumental wins for Dems. In Florida, Gay Valimont and Josh Weil are running to flip 2 US House seats. And in Wisconsin, Susan Crawford is vying for a seat on the state Supreme Court—against Musk’s candidate Brad Schimel. If you know anyone who lives in these areas, please urge them to vote!
Speaking of Elon Musk, he was heckled multiple times at his hate-filled rally in Green Bay where he said nothing worth repeating. Hundreds of protesters braved the pouring rain to line the streets outside of the event.
Yesterday, thousands gathered for a César Chávez Day march in Delano, California—the site of a historic grape strike. On what would have been Chávez’s 98th birthday, people honored the civil rights icon, and protested against Trump’s unconstitutional agenda.
Chávez’s son, Paul, said: “the best way to honor his legacy is to get out and keep that fight for justice going.” He’s absolutely right.
There was also a large rally in DC to celebrate the Trans Day of Visibility. House Minority Whip Katherine Clark slammed Republicans, saying: “They believe there should be a separate set of rules for the wealthy and connected, while the rest of us get pushed further behind. Well we’re here to say, ‘Enough is enough.’”
Monday was a busy day for Trump in court. A federal judge halted his attempt to strip away deportation protections from Venezuelan immigrants, 2 watchdog groups sued over the unconstitutional executive order requiring proof of citizenship to vote, and a federal employees union sued over Trump’s attempt to block collective bargaining.
Polls should always be taken with a grain of salt. Some of them are worth putting a spotlight on—like a recent poll from Fox “News,” that says 56% of Americans disapprove of “Trump’s handling of the economy.” Considering this survey comes from Fox, it’s safe to assume the actual number is much higher.
In a major win for democracy, disgraced French far-right failure Marine Le Pen has been banned from running for office for 5 years. The decision stems from Le Pen’s conviction for embezzling funds from the European Union. Le Pen was also sentenced to 4 years in prison—2 years under house arrest, and the other 2 suspended, for now.
I’m extremely proud to report that our Watchdog Coalition ran a massive campaign yesterday, urging Congress to reject the GOP’s unhinged SAVE Act. Our “#HandsOffHerVote” effort generated 250 million impressions and trended #7 on Twitter/X—the platform that House Republicans use the most. We only need a few GOP votes to block the bill, so let’s keep up the pressure!
Since November, we’ve made tens of thousands of calls and sent more than 253,000 letters to the House and Senate. And in the last week alone, we’ve sent 24,000 letters to Congress demanding they call for Pete Hegseth’s resignation. We’re also taking on DOGE, fighting for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and so much more.
On top of giving you the good news daily, we’re constantly delivering real actions, with measurable results. We’re building momentum, but we need all hands on deck.
