Twelve Days Before Trump’s Bank Cut Him Off, Somebody Wrote A Memo

Capital One hasn’t released it. The Trumps’ own lawyers described it in a filing nobody read. Plus 25 states in court over the tariffs, and the nurse ICE picked the wrong fight with.

THE TRUMPS SUED FOR PROOF. THE BANK ANSWERED.

On March 8, 2021, Capital One mailed letters telling the Trump family’s companies their bank accounts would be closed in June. The bank did not say why. Four years later Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. as trustee, and ten Trump companies sued the bank in Miami, saying the bank used Jan 6 as a pretext to cut them off.

Capital One fought to keep its files shut. It got a court order in July 2025 that stopped the case cold for eight months. Then Judge Roy Altman, who Trump himself put on the bench, threw the lawsuit out anyway. The contract let either side walk away for any reason at all, he ruled. But he gave the Trumps 90 days to demand documents from the bank.

They got documents, and we went into the court file and read two hundred pages ourselves. What we found was reference to a memo Capital One wrote twelve days before the account termination letters went out.

Capital One has not produced that memo. But the Trumps’ own lawyers describe it in an earlier filing, down to the title: “Account Closure Recommendation: Donald J. Trump and the Trump Organization.” Five investigators get a mention on page two. The memo’s four sections, according to the filing, are the Wollman Ice Rink, the Trump hotel in Las Vegas, Trump Tower Baku, and a company called TTT Consulting.

A Trump Organization spokesman told ABC News the bank had resurrected isolated transactions from years earlier that nobody had ever flagged before.

Last week, Capital One’s lawyers told the court that a money-laundering review is the reason those accounts closed. Look at the calendar. According to the Trumps’ own filing, that memo is dated February 24, 2021, and the closing letters went out on March 8.

Get a House committee with subpoena power and that memo comes out in a month—maybe less—which is one more reason November matters more than anything else on our calendars this year.

TWENTY-FIVE STATES SUED. THEY BEAT THIS BEFORE.

Twenty-five states walked into the US Court of International Trade on Monday and asked it to kill Trump’s newest tariffs—which hit 60 trading partners and cover 99.4% of everything America imports. NY Gov. Kathy Hochul called them a tax on groceries and building materials, which is exactly what they are.

Here’s the thing about states like these: they already won this fight before. The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in February that the emergency tariffs were illegal, and Customs has been paying the money back—$71 billion of the $166 billion it took, with interest, landing in the accounts of affected American businesses.

NY AG Letitia James didn’t mince words. The regime, she said, is “once again trying to illegally raise taxes on families and businesses with a new round of tariffs” after losing at the Supreme Court.

The White House says this version is “legally durable.” That’s the third law they’ve tried.

ONE NURSE, 54 CLAIMS, 17 STATES, ONE WEEK.

For more than a year, Norma Bowe Ph.D. has parked an RV outside Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey and provided what people needed—first aid, diabetes and cancer screenings, baby formula, blankets for families waiting to see someone locked inside. She’s a registered nurse, a Kean University public health professor, and a grandmother. She says she has never gone there to protest.

Three hundred detainees went on a hunger strike inside that jail in late May, and by Memorial Day a crowd had gathered at the gates to support them. Agents in tactical vests and face coverings pushed people back with batons. There were rubber bullets and pepper spray in the air. Bowe looked over and saw agents dragging a young woman across the asphalt, so she went to help.

She says that is when they threw her down. Fractured kneecap, torn meniscus, head injury. Two months later she still gets headaches and can’t sleep.

Last week the ACLU filed a $500,000 claim for her against the federal government, one of 54 filed the same week across 17 states and DC—54 separate demands for money, all landing at once.

Bowe warned that ICE is acting like it has impunity, and without accountability more people get hurt. The regime picked the wrong grandmother.

THEY CHARGED HIM. THEN THEY FOLDED.

Seven hundred fifty thousand janitors, nurses, security officers, and caregivers across 58 California counties belong to the labor union SEIU California, and David Huerta runs it. He went to document an ICE raid at a Los Angeles business on June 6, 2025.

Agents put him on the ground hard enough to send him to a hospital. They then put him in a cell, and three days later he walked out on $50,000 bond in his socks, carrying his shoes.

The felony charge was conspiracy to impede an officer, and it hung over him through the summer and into the fall—before the regime quietly downgraded it to a misdemeanor in October. Bill Essayli, the US attorney whose office brought it, got disqualified from several cases that October too, after a judge found he had stayed in the job past what the law allows.

Different prosecutors kept picking the file up. But on July 27, they moved to dismiss, and that turns permanent on August 31. Abbe Lowell and Marilyn Bednarski, who represent Huerta, said the government held a charge over a labor leader and walked away once it couldn’t survive scrutiny.

They had 14 months, a federal prosecutor’s office, and 750,000 people watching. They folded.

There’s only 91 days until the midterms, and we need to make every one count.
