Hi Scott,

We need STATE Laws that prohibit detaining ANYONE without a valid arrest warrant.

Any ‘agent’ with such a warrant must NEVER be masked when apprehending a person. They must identify themselves and have their badge and name prominently displayed.

Any action by an ‘agent' other than what is explicitly allowed by law, should subject the ‘agent’ to criminal charges, arrest, and due process prosecution.

If convicted, the President has no pardon power, only the State Governor would have such power.

Any pardon would have to be reviewed by an independent, non-partisan group of lawyers, to determine if a justification (e.g., terminal disease, inappropriate verdict) exists to grant a pardon.

Only after such a review and determination would a Governor have the authority to pardon a convicted ‘agent.’

“Agent" = ALL Federal and Federalized personnel, as well as, authorized State personnel.

Thank you,

Excellent! More should do as you did, Laura - write and call their Governors irrespective of whether they are a D or and R.

My hope is that Scott, Ben (MeidasTouch), Jim Acosta, and others will speak directly to various Governors since they know and have access to them.

I always thought that if we wanted to build an extra small room to our house in our lot, we would need a building permit. And our house is really not a historical jewel. Who granted permission for the demolition of the East Wing? trump does not own the White House, the PEOPLE own it!

It really seems that at some point (but not likely in public), that some MAGA followers will be saying to themselves, 'I am done with this madman.'

MAGA is a cult, but not all cult followers are alike - some retain hope, and some of them recover it, and then some of them help others...

It is/was an American iconic symbol… what part of that does Trump and his “TEAM” not understand, tho they dont pretend to care about America as they aggressively shred it🖤🖤🖤

The answer to your question is absolutely no one. He even related one of those imaginary conversations he has with himself, "sir, you can do anything you want; you're the president." This was after he theoretically asked about what it would take to do it. Every time he claims someone prefaced a comment to him with "sir," it double underlines that it's a lie.

I needed this good news today.

Thinking of this poem …

“PITY THE NATION”

Lawrence Ferlinghetti (After Khalil Gibran) 2007

Pity the nation whose people are sheep

And whose shepherds mislead them

Pity the nation whose leaders are liars

Whose sages are silenced

And whose bigots haunt the airwaves

Pity the nation that raises not its voice

Except to praise conquerors

And acclaim the bully as hero

And aims to rule the world

By force and by torture

Pity the nation that knows

No other language but its own

And no other culture but its own

Pity the nation whose breath is money

And sleeps the sleep of the too well fed

Pity the nation oh pity the people

who allow their rights to erode

and their freedoms to be washed away

My country, tears of thee

Sweet land of liberty!

copyright Lawrence Ferlingetti

May our pity be transformed into action that will create more good news. Thanks, Scott.

tRump has put the power of the Federal Government up for sale to the highest bidder. I really hope whoever runs next time runs to demolish his gaudy ballroom and rebuild the East Wing. I hope The People are starting to see the carnage he is wrecking on the US Body Politic and finally see that a 'Unitary Executive' is the terrible idea most of us could have told anyone who would listen, that it is. We need a new Constitution with a completely rethought Executive Branch, Supreme Court and liberation of the DOJ and The Inspectors General from the Executive Branch. We need mechanisms for dissolving a Congress - either one house or both which is judged to be working (or not working) to the disadvantage of We The People.
