We Will Not Comply: Veterans Refuse To Support Trump’s War, New York Purges Trump-Backed Corruption, and Cultural Icons Walk Away From The Kennedy Center
Plus, unions score raises for workers across America
While Trump is “busy” at fancy galas auctioning off paintings of Jesus, I’m glad to have today’s news brief for you.
We are one of the only forces standing in the way of the billionaires and corporate media overlords who are actively supporting Trump. And we’re 100% independent, which means we never have to answer to any investors or advertisers. We only answer to you.
We’re building on our massive media operation to break this billionaire blockade of the truth, but we need all hands on deck. So please upgrade to a paid subscription today:
TESLA NO LONGER LEADS
Elon Musk doesn’t have too much to celebrate, as his DOGE faces increased scrutiny and folks demand accountability for the Trump regime’s abuses of power.
Since leaving his bogus DOGE office, things have only gotten worse for Musk—as Tesla is no longer the best-selling electric vehicle maker in the world. Musk has lost his Burger King-like-crown, partly because Trump let tax credits for electric vehicles expire. Sweet, sad irony. Moving on.
STATES RAISING WAGES
Nineteen states raised the minimum wage at the beginning of the year—most of them run by Democrats. It’s all thanks to labor unions, and the hard work of organizers over the years. Trump is against raising the minimum wage, and he’s proven that time and time again with his own businesses.
Everyone should be able to make a livable wage and have access to affordable healthcare. Let’s only support politicians who share that vision.
MAMDANI THROWS OUT EXECUTIVE ORDERS
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani is already delivering on promises he made on the campaign trail. Mamdani revoked all executive orders signed by disgraced former mayor Eric Adams after he was indicted for bribery-related charges.
“That was a date that marked a moment when many New Yorkers decided politics held nothing for them,” Mamdani stated at his swearing-in event.
“We speak about this day as a new era,” Mamdani continued. “And in order to fulfill that hope, we have to reckon with why so many New Yorkers have turned away from politics over the last few months, the last few years, the last few decades.”
MORE KENNEDY CENTER FALLOUT
There has been more backlash against Trump unlawfully adding his name to the Kennedy Center building and website. Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe Award-winner Stephen Schwartz, known for composing the hit musical “Wicked,” announced he will no longer take part in an upcoming event at the center.
Schwartz says that The Kennedy Center “no longer represents the apolitical place for free artistic expression it was founded to be … There’s no way I would set foot in it now.”
VETERANS PUSH BACK AGAINST TRUMP
There have been a lot of hot takes on Trump’s invasion of Venezuela, but I figured few would be able to speak to it better than our Veterans.
Sen. Ruben Gallego, who served in Iraq as a member of the Marine Corps, stated: “I lived through the consequences of an illegal war sold to the American people with lies … [We] did not ask for this, Congress did not authorize this, and our service members should not be sent into harm’s way for another unnecessary conflict.”
Sen. Tammy Duckworth, who served in Iraq with the Army National Guard, said: “Trump’s reckless … operations in Venezuela … are not about enforcing law and order … no President has the authority to unilaterally decide to use force to topple a government … His actions continue putting American troops … at risk.”
Rep. Eugene Vindman, who served in Iraq as a member of the US Army, stated: “Over the past 2 decades, we have learned the hard way that wars are easy to start and hard to finish ... Having served in Iraq, I’ve seen this firsthand. Trump is wrong to start a war in Venezuela … it is not putting America first.”
And Pete Buttigieg, a former naval officer who served in Afghanistan, said: “It’s an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president—failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home—decides to launch a war for regime change abroad. The American people don’t want to ‘run’ a foreign country.”
These brave Veterans are right—and their warnings serve as a stark reminder that we must elect a Congress with the guts to stop Trump.
That’s our mission. We aren’t just reporting on the Trump regime, we’re leading the resistance against it. After dominating social media and driving over half a million contacts to Congress last year, we are now aiming to turn Trump into a lame duck. But to win the midterms, we have to build now.

What are your thoughts about Mamdani undoing Eric Adams’ executive orders?

Happy New Year everyone!
Our main focuses today:

Erasing all of Trump’s corrupt executive orders will be one of the first things we do when we take back the White House. But let’s start with Congress!
