We’re halfway through another week of Musk and Trump’s reckless destruction, so I’m happy to share more good news with you today. I hope it provides you with some relief, and reminds you that incredible people are fighting this tyranny alongside us.
Yesterday, US Sen. Cory Booker wrapped up what turned out to be the longest Senate speech in US history, clocking in at an astounding 25 hours and 5 minutes. This shattered the record previously held by racist fmr. Sen. Strom Thurmond, whose infamous 1957 filibuster opposed the Civil Rights Act.
During his speech, Booker said: “We cannot allow the erosion of our democracy to become normalized. Every act of harm, every attack on our institutions, must be met with unwavering resistance. This is not just about politics—it’s about the soul of our nation.”
Susan Crawford decisively beat Elon Musk’s handpicked candidate for the state Supreme Court last night. Crawford won with 55% of the vote, even after Musk-related groups dumped tens of millions of dollars into the race. And despite Elon making a personal visit to Green Bay. This is a resounding win for democracy.
Also in Wisconsin, Dem Jill Underly was re-elected as Superintendent of Public Instruction—defeating a far-right opponent who campaigned on defunding public education. This is another huge statewide win for Dems.
Following nearly two months of constant protests, Tesla sales continue to plummet across the world. Compared to March 2024, sales are down 65% in Denmark, 64% in Sweden, and 41% in France—to name a few.
GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy made a big mistake on live TV, saying: “Is there some way that we cut Medicare so that it’s—excuse me, reform Medicare.” This is not good news, but it’s a whopper of a slip-up that will surely haunt the GOP for years to come. Dem Rep. Greg Casar said: “Oops! A Republican Senator forgot to lie today.”
GOP Rep. Don Bacon wrote an op-ed in The New York Times, titled: “We Must Stand Up To Putin,” addressed to Republicans and Trump directly. He wrote: “Supporting Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression is not only morally right. It is also in our national interest.” Oh, look—a Republican discovered part of his backbone.
In the courts, a federal judge blocked Alabama from prosecuting people who help women get out-of-state abortions, 23 states and DC sued Trump for cutting $11 billion in health funding, and the DNC filed a lawsuit over Trump’s unconstitutional attempt to change election laws.
In his marathon speech, Dem Sen. Cory Booker asked a powerful question: “Generations from now will look back at this moment and have a single question—where were you? When our country was in crisis and when the American people were asking for our help—did we speak up?”
Absolutely. We’re on the frontlines, like we’ve been for the last 9 years. We’re fighting for our democracy—taking on Musk and Trump every single day.
This week our Watchdog Coalition led a massive “Hands Off Her Vote” campaign, urging Congress to reject the GOP’s unhinged SAVE Act. The effort generated over 250 million impressions and trended #7 on Twitter/X—the platform the House GOP uses the most. Long story short, they won’t be voting on the SAVE Act this week.
In the last few months, we’ve made tens of thousands of calls and sent more than 255,000 letters to the House and Senate. And today, we’re launching a brand new campaign to stop Trump’s dismantling of the Dept. of Education.
On top of giving you the good news daily, you can always count on us to deliver real actions, with measurable results. We’re building momentum, but we need all hands on deck.

Onward!

What do you think about Elon losing in Wisconsin, even though he dumped all that money into the race?
