Thanks for sharing this! It was the honor of a lifetime to be standing next to former President Barack Obama on the night of his inauguration in 2009. He will go down as one of the greatest. Without a doubt. And this speech is beyond legendary.
We all know that golf is the most important thing to Trump. He prioritizes a round of golf over flooding in Texas, over famine in Gaza, over arresting legal people in this country.
In golf, every ball you hit has a lie. With Trump everything he says is a lie. In golf, there are good lies and bad lies. With Trump, there are just bad lies.
Trump is lying cheating stealing from the American people from our allies and from all the world who depend on us. He’s a bad golfer. He’s a bad liar. He’s a bad president.
A demagogue, I'll grant you, firing up a mob, but not an inspirational speaker. His rants don't age well. (Which makes him, I suppose, the anti-Obama.)
Every time Trump opens his mouth and speaks you hear how illiterate he is. And this is especially evident when he is speaking with foreign heads of state. It makes me cringe to think he is representing this country.
Barack and Michelle have a gift for this. They so often move me with their words, and we definitely need more of that inspiration in our world. Thanks for your insight, Bob!
What’s stands out to me about Obama beyond all the things that have been said here is that there were many many people who voted for him whom you would not have expected would do so. That shows the power of his words.
Exactly! I loved Obama but why did Americans lose their house and jobs but the bankers got bonuses in 2008-09?? If they were too big to fail, then were Americans too small to matter? Dems have not recovered in voter’s view of them since 2009.
I didn't realize we had a guest writer. I greatly enjoyed learning about the Linked Narrative. I was reminded of what makes for great teaching: teaching from the heart, teaching with our minds, and teaching with our hands. Obama's message was such a gem to demonstrate the story of self, of us, and of now. Thank you!
I’d like to know, as a regular citizen of our great country, how to get through to people that they are being lied to by Trump and his Administration, without being too aggressive? Not sounding like I think they are being ignorant or stupid. How can I get them to at least listen to reason and pay attention to what’s going on? How do I get them to civilly engage.
Excellent, I'll talk to Scott about this. Also, why don't you draft a Linked Narrative of your own and drop it in this thread? I'll give you feedback on it. The Linked Narrative will help!
Please explain more fully what you mean. Do you want me to ask this on Scott’s thread? I’m not very tech savvy. Sorry. How do draft a Linked Narrative of my own?
I'm going to find Jesse Jackson's "Common Ground" speech and apply this to it. I think it's a perfect fit. With the bonus of the black preacher's gift.

Thank you for the opportunity to share it!
Obama is the real deal, there's not a Republican alive that can hold a candle to him..
Thank you for reading, Shalone. Obama really is amazing.
This is how it’s done!
Thank you, Sam!
Thanks for this!
You bet, thank you for reading, Stanley!
That's a nice packaging of what every gifted public speaker has always known intuitively. I like it.
Thank you, Wayne!
This is great! Thanks for sharing, Scott and Bob!
You bet, Ms Jonington! Thank you for reading and commenting.
The Lying President

Let’s do something about this!
Also a bad public speaker!

Agreed! They're incredible, and we can use more of this inspiration. Thank you, Dr. Lovely, for reading and commenting. :)

Good point, Pam. He inspired a diverse coalition of Americans to join him.
Thanks, Scott, for these nuggets of wisdom! I only wish that Obama had done more for us common folk!
Thanks for reading and commenting, Huley!

That is something I will never understand!
Agree. I can only think that the administration was so fearful of what was happening they lost sight of who it was happening to.
Or the corporate democrats sold him out and undercut him!

I’ve had a few folks join over time to pen some great pieces. I hope to do it more frequently! Thanks Susan!
Excellent description for great teaching. It's so important to connect with others on multiple levels. Thank you for reading and commenting, Susan!
Thank you, Scott. Obama is one of the Greats, that’s for sure. I’d like to hear more about this.
Thanks, Kat! Anything in particular you'd like to hear more about?

I just mean, if you drafted a quick Linked Narrative based on this guest column I wrote for the Dworkin Report, I can take a look.
Ahhh… I really miss Obama!
Thanks for sharing - very informative.
Thank you, Wis!
Valuable info. Thank you very much.
Thanks Paris!

Ooh, please do share it!
Actually, that was the wrong one (though it still works). Here is "Common Ground:" https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/jesse/speeches/jesse88speech.html
Excellent, thank you Wayne!

This is awesome, I appreciate it.
Thanks to Scott & Bob. Kamala did this & had crowds everywhere she went. If she had time I believe she could have won. 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks J.R.!
Thank you
