Today you’ve probably seen the news that President Biden is calling on reforms for the Supreme Court. But something that got buried between the lines, and is missing from the reporting is the “why.”
A newly released statement from VP Harris spells out exactly why calling for these reforms right now is so important:
“There is a clear crisis of confidence facing the Supreme Court as its fairness has been called into question after numerous ethics scandals and decision after decision overturning long-standing precedent…These popular reforms will help to restore confidence in the Court, strengthen our democracy, and ensure no one is above the law.”
As Biden said, “What is happening now is not normal, and it undermines the public’s confidence in the court’s decisions, including those impacting personal freedoms.”
To address this pivotal moment Biden and Harris are boldly calling for term limits of 18 years, and for an enforceable code of ethics for the court. They are also pushing for the “No One Is Above the Law Amendment,” which will enshrine the idea that there is “no immunity for crimes a former president committed while in the White House.”
To create change, you have to at least start the conversation. These aren’t radical reforms. This is common sense, supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans.
People shouldn’t be serving lifelong appointments on the bench, and Justices should be held to the highest standards–not the lowest. For example, Clarence Thomas has accepted millions of dollars worth of gifts and vacations over the last 2 decades from his buddies, who have benefited from his court decisions. When you have to ask whether or not a “gift” is a bribe, something is off.
The mainstream media is failing us once again, by covering this as just mere calls for Supreme Court reforms. That’s where we come in, to cover the real story.

This is about so much more than Supreme Court reform.
This is about choosing democracy over chaos.
Absolutely needed. The corruption has to go, along with Thomas and Alito. Expand the court to 13, too.
