Indiana legislators were threatened with being primaried, they received bomb threats to their homes and businesses, several were swatted and armed SWAT teams showed up with weapons while their families were home and one legislator’s grandson’s friends and several people at his school was sent false and nasty texts about his grandmother. They still stood strong and showed some backbone despite these Mafia-type tactics. As one said, giving in to threats, intimidation, and bullying would send a message that these tactics work and would happen in the future if not stopped. Legislators in the US Congress could take a few notes.

As Sarah Longwell stated in her Secret Podcast last week, this is what keeps her awake at night. Media outlets have been devoured by billionaires devoted and loyal to Trump and his message. If this administration is able to control the information that is decimated to the masses, they cement their hold on power.
It is more important than ever that the work that Scott and his colleagues continue to grow and reach larger numbers of American citizens to blunt the effects and threat to the systematic dismantling of the Fourth Estate. Information is power and free, unflinching journalism is vital to saving our country.
