NEW: Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have announced the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Center Moratorium Act, legislation that would enact a reasonable pause to the development of AI to ensure the safety of humanity.

Every day I choose to tell one person about the Dworkin Report. It’s the best feel good source for hope.

Sam Jones's avatar

That is great to hear, Jane. Thank you!

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

And I re-stack them every day.

Hegseth sitting there while his own comptroller lied under oath about the war cost, Carroll’s $83 million standing firm, and regular people in Monroe Township actually stopping Big Tech cold — these are real, tangible wins!

Peggy Freeman's avatar

Yes, they are, Sam, and it is a beautiful thing to behold!

Garamendi did well but could have had senator John Ossoff asking Hogsbreath ( as with J Edgar Hoover) “ Have you no sense of decency, sir”? He doesn’t appear since has no shame, but he can be humiliated.

Sam Jones's avatar

Yeah for sure. Ossoff is GREAT!

It was Joseph N Welch who asked that question of Joseph McCarthy, as Welch was counsel for the Secretary of the Army during some hearings. It led to McCarthy‘s downfall. A stunning moment. Welch was a member of Hale and Dorr, a prestigious Boston law firm, later to become Wilmer Hale, a firm that resisted Trump’s attempts to intimidate law firms.

Love seeing the resistance stack up real victories. This post reminds me why we keep fighting. Another great edition, Scott.

The sooner Hegseth is gone, the better! I can't wait for his impeachment and hopefully incarceration for murdering people at sea.

The citizens of St. Charles MO also stopped a data center and got a ban and another town in MO voted out a whole city council after they approved a data center despite citizen opposition!

Patricia Davis's avatar

“Voting out the whole city council”, music to many ears , many more needs, and the blue wave action for November -the whole Republican scam fam.

Let us never forget…why!

Sam Jones's avatar

That reminds me, we did do a story on Festus at some point last month. Saint Charles is a great addition!

And, when does E. Jean Carroll get her money? No one will ever make the convicted felon pedophile obey the law. He just does as he pleases and congress lets him get away with it. 🤬

Sam Jones's avatar

The Supreme Court could end up bailing him out, but here’s to hoping!!

All of mainstream media is under this corrupt regime's finger now. They spew lies, misinformation and propaganda 24/7. The problem is there are an awful lot of gullible people who will believe what they are spewing! These gullible people will not research and determine the actual facts and take what these news feeds tell them as gospel. We fight back with the truth on substacks like yours, Scott, and many others. More and more communities are stepping up, uniting together and telling their leaders in their communities in a loud "NO" they will not stand for data centers or detention centers to be built there. This resistance must carry across this country to let that orange smear and his minions they will NOT be allowed to piss all over our rights. They cannot ignore our Constitution, and they most definitely cannot ignore us! Keep fighting, America! Stay strong and stay safe!

Dennis King's avatar

So right, Peggy. Two major reasons that m. media underpins data centers: 1) They serve to hold the peons (us) under their control, and 2) They make they make themselves filthy stinking rich. That's why so many would call them and their bought-and-paid-for regime neo-Nazis. Faelon smukz himself supports the AfD (Alternative fur Deutschland), the modern Nazi Party in Germany. Why do they even exist? How does he get away with it???

Peggy Freeman's avatar

I wish I could answer that question as I have asked it a million times in this past year! We are not nazis! We are Americans and I simply DO NOT want to be under anyone's control! We have to get them out of our government!

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Yes, Peggy! Excellently expressed!

May Day was wonderful - quieter here but that make it even more powerful people could meet and greet - ours included a mutual

Aid event where we gave away food (non perishables) toys clothes baked goods and food to eat at the event - beautiful camaraderie a true sense of commUNITY.

What a lovely, helpful idea. I will share with my like minded, concerned senior citizens (some of whom went to the May 1 protest with their walkers 🙏)

Thank you from Colorado!!!

That’s great to hear, Debra! That’s how we make change happen!

📺 Corporate media is a failure and cannot be trusted to be entirely honest.

🏭 More communities need to be pushing back against data centers. It takes staying informed and being pro-active informed at the local level. These developers are sneaky! Local leaders act when we tell them what we want.

“Last week CBS’s 60 Minutes interviewed Trump for 40 minutes, and aired only 13.”

I will say that they kept in where Norah nailed him rather well when he went off on her and the press in general as being “horrible, horrible people” after she read a portion of the would-be assassin’s manifesto. She had quoted the part where the guy basically said the government was killing, raping, molesting and committing countless other crimes.

After spewing hate at her and the press for reporting [the truth], trump nastily stated, “I am not a rapist! I am not a child molester! I —“

Norah, not missing a beat, interjected, “Oh! You think the suspect was referring to YOU?”

I punched the air then.

(Note: I’ve seen the clip once, so my recounting is not verbatim or complete.)

I agree that moment was classic!

Everything Trump touches gets contaminated with propaganda.

Sam Jones's avatar

I bet that’s not the only thing it gets contaminated with 🤢

Patti Scott's avatar

Everything he touches is touched by fraud and grift

Trump has shown that he is for sale and, as president, that includes America. He should be fired by the people as anyone running anything would be for appalling behavior.
