James Comer Must Resign or be Expelled

Enough is enough.

I’m done with GOP Rep. James Comer’s constant lies—he needs to resign or be expelled immediately.

Comer helped spearhead an ongoing smear campaign, in a hollow crusade to damage President Biden’s reputation and impeach him at all costs. It is nothing short of a revenge fantasy on behalf of twice-impeached Trump. Sounds like election interference to me.

In September of last year Comer released a statement saying a “mountain of evidence reveals Joe Biden abused his public office for his family’s financial gain.” This terrible assertion has been at the center of their sham investigations into the President and, if true, would certainly be bad. But there’s just one glaring problem: Comer hasn’t presented a shred of actual evidence proving President Biden ever committed any high crimes or misdemeanors.

Without any substance, Comer and his allies have resorted to alleging and insinuating that the President had done something nefarious.

Comer is not just another Marjorie Taylor Greene or Matt Gaetz screaming random nonsense. Comer is the Chair of the House Oversight Committee. So when he asks questions like, “Was Joe Biden directly involved with Hunter Biden’s business deals, and is he compromised?” people take him seriously. Hopefully, that’s all about to change. 

Recently, major news broke that the DoJ indicted former FBI informant, Alexander Smirnov, for fabricating the Biden bribery story. And what's worse—it’s reported Smirnov got the disinformation from Russian Intelligence officials.

Now Comer is trying to spin the story again, saying Smirnov’s bogus claim “wasn’t an important part of this investigation.” Yet, in May of last year, Comer said it was “a very crucial piece of our investigation,” calling it “very credible.”

Comer’s House Oversight Committee Press Office also brought up the false claims from an FBI form 10 times in just 5 months last year. They brought up Burisma 22 times, and they used the word “bribe” in releases that included the Biden name 4 times since last year.

This doesn’t include Comer’s other public interviews where he infers that crimes were committed by Joe Biden and his family.

While Comer’s actions are wrong and punishable as it stands, some questions remain that need addressing. Their answers will tell us just how corrupt Comer is and, frankly, if he’s committed any criminal acts.

• Did Comer know this was part of a Russian disinformation campaign? 

• Did Comer know the bribe allegations were false? 

• Did Comer receive any financial or direct political benefit to make false accusations about the Biden family? 

• What else has Comer lied about?

One thing we do know is this: James Comer shouldn’t be allowed to be in Congress anymore. Comer’s abuse of power has gone too far. But as we’ve learned, there is no bottom to these traitors. Time for Comer to pack his bags.
