The shooting at Trump’s rally is horrifying. And political violence should have no place in our country.
What I have seen from MAGA since yesterday is absolutely disgusting.
MAGA used this opportunity not to unite the nation or rally behind their nominee, but instead to call for bloody vengeance and retaliation against Democrats specifically. Before they even knew who the shooter was or even if Trump was okay, they were issuing ominous threats and pointing fingers at Joe Biden all over social media.
President Biden cut short his weekend trip, canceled his TV ads for the evening, and even called Trump to check on him directly. He also made a forceful televised statement condemning the attack, saying:
“There is no place in America for this kind of violence. It's sick. It's sick. It is one of the reasons we have to unite this country. We cannot allow for this to be happening. We cannot be like this. We cannot condone this.”
Democratic leadership and elected officials from around the country stopped what they were doing to pray for Donald and echo President Biden’s sentiment.
I was running a social media campaign about Trump’s Project 2025, but we immediately ended it when the shooting took place.
We are in a moment that demands unity, solidarity, and commitment to the democratic norms that hold this nation together. MAGA’s baseless accusations and sickening threats perfectly embody the state of politics that allow for and encourage such senseless political violence.
Sen. Tim Scott said, “This was an assassination attempt aided and abetted by the radical Left and corporate media.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote “may god have mercy on our enemies because we won’t.”
Rep. Mike Collins alleged Biden was behind the shooting, and then called for Biden’s arrest for the attempted assassination of Trump. This is truly beyond bonkers and I’ve called on him to resign or be expelled.
Sen. JD Vance, still trying to lock up his VP spot, said Biden campaign’s rhetoric led to this.
This MAGA vitriol is the worst kind of response.
MAGA will not slow down and we can’t either.
We are moving forward full speed ahead this week to make sure everyone knows about Trump’s use of violent rhetoric and his Project 2025.

The MAGA response to this whole thing was terrifying, and very telling.
MAGA Republicans are accusing 'Leftists' of inciting violence instead of taking responsibility, as usual. Democrats are unable to reason with the unreasonable, so let's focus on outvoting MAGA Christo-Fascist nationalist Republicans. 🇺🇸💙💙💙🇺🇸
