I am not really surprised that Democrats did so well last Tuesday, although I was terribly shocked last year when Kamala Harris did not win. After all of the protests this year, I felt that the voters would turn out and send a message to trump.
I agree with Mrs Obama. The White House IS the People’s House. It does not belong to any president.
And cheater. He cheats at everything & lies about everything, except for the few times he accidentally reveals something unsavory about himself. Also corrupt as hell with no allegiance to America, capable of just about any crime & atrocity possible
Which makes me wonder why people are so determined to believe that there were no irregularities in the 2024 election. There were. He’s cheated at every single thing he’s ever done in his miserable life. He and Musk admitted it. At the least, Musk bought the election for both of them—to stay out of jail. Do a search on why he was so eager
to dismantle USAID. 600,000 people, including a large number of children, have already died as
a result of his actions.
There are organizations that are studying the data, not pushing a conspiracy theory: This Will Hold, Election Truth Alliance, and others. I will never understand why the Democrats didn’t ask for a recount.
January 6 was a rolling coup/practice exercise, and the perpetrators were never punished. Maga spent the next four years poisoning the well of public opinion with their “Stop the Steal“ lies. They cheated in 2016, and expected to be able to do it in 2020, but the larger percentage of mail and ballots because of Covid foiled that attempt.
But I’m screaming into the void, along with thousands of other people. None of the big platforms, including, Scott, will address this. We’ve been called stupid and childish, just for suggesting they were regularities in the election.
On one hand, the election wasn't stolen or rigged. On the other hand -- CITIZENS UNITED. Racism. Sexism. Joe Biden. Etc. The Harris-Walz ticket did amazingly well under those circumstances, and I'd like to see more of the XY pundits giving them credit for it.
Michelle Obama is absolutely correct! The White House doesn’t belong to any one president! The president has the privilege to live and work there while in office, but he or she ( hopefully soon) does not have the right to destroy what is the property of all the people, not just one person!
It’s a disgrace what orange face man has done to the White House!
Yes Susanna I concur. I am an active member of Democracy Out Loud in NC. We have met for about 410 consecutive Tuesdays. Originally began as Tuesdays with Tillis.
Several times this year we employed a Cheaters race event as part of our NC General Assembly actions. This is a great video of one of the Cheater Races:
We should continue protesting and focusing on everything wrong with what trump is doing. We have got to release the Epstein files. If what is in them is as bad as we think, hopefully we can bring down the Republicans once and for all!
Protest! Protest! Protest! The meteoric growth in numbers from 4 million at the first No Kings & 7 million in the 2nd is an unprecedented swelling of political decent. It took years to get this big against Vietnam. It took Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America 11 years to become 11 people strong. Growing the protests grows the countrywide anti- Trump/Republican sentiment & they will be squashed in the mid-terms - or before!
And those estimates were likely undercounts. It could've been as many as twice that amount in both cases. In fact, some estimates were 3 times those figures.
My list is long, but I will edit! We all need to put these words on yard signs, bumper stickers, t-shirts and lapel pins: "WE THE PEOPLE" LOVE AMERICA! Or "WE THE PEOPLE" in short is also acceptable! We need these words everywhere in our sweet country to show just how many of us are ready to be counted in this fight!
Agree Sandy. Other suggestions, “True Patriots Love & Protect Their Country, Not Destroy It” or “Democracy = Equality and Respect for All” On another note, tried to like and respond to your comment to me but it looks like that comment thread was deleted: “Absolutely Julie!! Everybody needs to step back and see how many of us across the country have gotten up on our hind legs and voted!!!! WE are willing to band together to turn this ship around! 'WE the People' can do this!!! :-)”
Many of us who came of political age in the late 1960s don't "love America." We deeply suspect that "America" is run by people -- rich white men, et al. -- who do not wish us well. We also suspect, from previous experience, that the rah-rah-America types will sell us down the river at the first opportunity. What's your advice to those of us who've been engaged for longer than you have?
First, stop assuming you know who you are talking to. Second, do your home work and find out what has been making it possible for people to speak their minds and protest peacefully until The Donald showed up. There are few places where I as an unmarried woman without children, could buy property, create my business with a high school education and choose to live in the way I do without harassments by either government or religious fanatics. In my late 70's I am terribly proud of my father and his 5 brothers who fought for this country over seas as young men who all sent money home to their mother and siblings. When duty whispered low, "Thou Must!" , they replied, "I will!" So yes, I am very proud to be an American! When I see Tuesday's turn-out of people across the country who know America is not perfect, but know they have a better chance under our Constitution to make corrections than most any other place in the world, I am even more proud to be an American! I am only glad that my father did not live to see this era with it's shamelessness. Still, he would know that "We the People" have what it takes, to turn all of this around!
Susanna, I am 76, so I came of age when you did. I love our country. I despise those governing our country at this time. Therein lies the difference. Think about it, please.
Can we talk about the dude who passed out in the Oval Office from the poop smell? Can we ask where the fuck RFK Jr. ran to (when he ran out of the room), and can we talk about all the other shit that happened yesterday?
I'm absolutely furious about the East Wing being demolished. That would be like renting our home to someone and having them take out half of it to make a skating rink. That is NOT his house, he's just being paid to live there temporarily. And no, Tuesday's wins weren't surprising, but they were very gratifying!
Absolutely LOVE Congresswoman Ansari’s protest - in the US Capitol!!! (The Speaker’s main office is one of a tiny few in the Capitol) Only a member could do this! SO Brave!!!
I am ecstatic about the turn of events on Tuesday’s elections. It gives me hope that this vile, evil excuse for a human being can be stopped along with Miller, Bannon and the OBM sly Fox.
I definitely agree with Michele Obama about the White House being the people's house. I remember as a child watching Jackie planting roses and the children playing on the grass and thinking what a wonderful home our president had. I was proud that we, the people, provided it. I wanted to cry to see it and theeast wing demolished. What careful people. Hateful, you know!!! FULL of HATE!
Thank you, Scott, for showing the protests in DC. When I searched for major media reports on the on the day after the election, only the Economic Insider and US World Reports showed it.
Yes cmary! Thank you for bringing up the missing coverage of the DC protests since Tuesday on ALL main stream media! I don't often swear, but that is what comes to mind with how "We the People" are being treated!!!! This is so wrong! Again thank you cmary and Scott! for talking about this!! It is so important!!!
'Democrats flip two seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission, GPSC'...Peter Hubbard and Alicia Johnson have won two seats on the GPSC, defeating two Republican incumbents and marking the first time the Democratic Party has won a statewide constitutional office in Georgia since 2006!!!
You could take the pic and put it in a note I think. It won’t let you share it from the post I don’t think though. But you SHOULD be able to I’ll ask substack if they can do that
I hope that the successes of Tuesday's elections are the beginning of a paradigm shift to humane, competent governance for all the people and not just some of the people. I have been hoping/working for such an outcome my entire adult life. I thought it had arrived with the 2008 election of Barack Obama, but the violence of the reaction to that beautiful moment was more than I expected. The pendulum is starting to swing left again, and I hope its sweep is long and enduring.
In conjuction with this sentiment, I urge everyone to read Dr. Stacey Patton's post today: "The Body of Empire is Breaking Down." https://substack.com/home/post/p-178264340
In complete agreement with Michelle Obama¡. Ever so mad that the Felon took a wrecking ball to the East Wing, just as he has to the economy. A bit surprised that Tuesday;s blue wave was, in actuality, a mini tsunami, but it gives me enormous hope.
Michelle, yes it is we the people’s house! Not after attending the No Kings demonstrations and see it grow exponentially and even republicans attend. And I prayed.

But you are not stating that the election was stolen or rigged because it wasn't. Thank you for not embracing that.
trump surely alluded to that being the case, but we have no proof at this time.
What is Trump descriptor? Many things can be noted.
That includes being a consistent liar.
And cheater. He cheats at everything & lies about everything, except for the few times he accidentally reveals something unsavory about himself. Also corrupt as hell with no allegiance to America, capable of just about any crime & atrocity possible

Good for Dem Rep. Yassamin Ansari!
YES! We need a follow up with Dem Rep. Yassamin Ansari about how that went!
Yes. I loved that too!
So did I
Momentum is truly on our side. What should we do with it, folks?
We should continue protesting and focusing on everything wrong with what trump is doing. We have got to release the Epstein files. If what is in them is as bad as we think, hopefully we can bring down the Republicans once and for all!

Not let up on the gas pedal!
RIBBIT, RESIST VOTE
Love it! :-)

Love it! We Americans believe in diversity!!! The more statements of our defiance of this brutal administration, the better!!! :-)
Agree!
How about "It's our patriotic duty to resist this regime"
Oh! That's good too! We have room for all kinds of ways to express the need to "Resisting this regime!" :-)
Many of us who came of political age in the late 1960s don't "love America." We deeply suspect that "America" is run by people -- rich white men, et al. -- who do not wish us well. I will repeat what I replied to Sandy: "It's our patriotic duty to resist this regime."
First, stop assuming you know who you are talking to. Not sure if you covered this:
'Democrats flip two seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission, GPSC'...Peter Hubbard and Alicia Johnson have won two seats on the GPSC, defeating two Republican incumbents and marking the first time the Democratic Party has won a statewide constitutional office in Georgia since 2006!!!

Good to hear Joan!
