President Biden gave a powerful commencement speech at Morehouse College on Sunday, where he was welcomed mostly by cheers, including a chant of “four more years!”
I took some time to watch the speech in its entirety. It was nothing like I saw covered in the press. Biden has clearly heard the issues that are profoundly resonating with college students across the country, and he spoke specifically to those concerns. He communicated in depth, and treated the topics with the care and gravity that they deserve.
I can’t tell you how infuriating it is to see the slanted opinion pieces on the President, when in reality this was a powerful speech that should have featured at least the five parts that I point out below.
All I’ve seen in mainstream media is criticism disguised as news. As has become the norm, pundits with hot takes neglected to actually cover the speech content. It’s total BS.
So, that’s why I wanted to point out some of the bigger quotes from this stellar speech:
Old Ghosts
“But let’s be clear what happens to you and your family when old ghosts in new garments seize power. Extremists come for the freedoms you thought belonged to you and everyone. Today in Georgia, they won’t allow water to be available to you while you wait in line to vote in an election. What in the hell is that all about?”
The Insurrection
“Insurrectionists who storm the Capitol with Confederate flags are called ‘patriots’ by some. Not in my house. Black police officers, Black veterans protecting the Capitol were called another word, as you’ll recall. They also say out loud, these other groups, immigrants ‘poison the blood’ of our country, like the grand wizard and fascists said in the past. But you know and I know we all bleed the same color. In America, we’re all created equal.”
On Democracy
“Democracy is also about hearing and heeding your generation’s call to a community free of gun violence and a planet free of climate crisis and showing your power to change the world.”
On Israel & Gaza
“What’s happening in Gaza and Israel is heartbreaking. Hamas’s vicious attack on Israel, killing innocent lives and holding people hostage … It’s a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.”
Ceasefire & Two-State Solution
Biden called for an immediate ceasefire to stop the fighting and to bring all of the hostages home: “I’ve been working on a deal as we speak, working around the clock to lead an international effort to get more aid into Gaza, rebuild Gaza. I’m working to make sure we finally get a two-state solution—the only solution.”
Bottom line: Biden delivered a powerful speech. But that’s not the headline you’ll see in the press.
Which is where we come in.
We have one of the largest and most powerful social media networks in politics. And we will continue to cover Biden the right way and spread it online like a wildfire, especially since the mainstream media won’t.

What’d you think of the speech?
They are not going to cover the President because they don’t want him to succeed. He does in spite of not because of the media. They give trump all the press coverage like they did in2016. That’s why he doesn’t have to campaign. They do for him. President Biden is a great man and leader. He understands we the people, not we the rich and powerful. He sees us. Too bad that the very people that need him don’t see that, shameful.
His speeches really have been amazing lately. Why isn’t anyone talking about this?
