It's so disheartening to see Republicans ignore the signs of a dictatorship. And isnt Jasmine Crockett the hero we need... I love her. 💙 And I Iove the Chicago students...every single piece of resistance is vital.

I was a young teen during the McCarthy hearings, and I agree that this regime is an echo of that time. The main difference is that there is no one in the GOP willing to shut it down. There is no decency.

Scott, it’s McCarthyism with Wi-Fi. Trump doesn’t need to wave papers in the Senate chamber — he’s got cronies at the FCC and a cult that thinks silencing comics is patriotism. Brazil shows us: when people flood the streets, the strongman shakes. Chicago shows us: the next generation already knows hate is a dead language. As for Republicans standing up? Don’t hold your breath. Most of them would sell the First Amendment for a committee chair and a free round of golf.

Casar is correct. Brazil is showing everyone how it is done. Do I think any Repub will join the Dems? Hell No! Still, I thank you for all of the good news including the kids in Chicago. Those signs look great. 🙏🏻

Our Best Chance To Save Democracy W/Heather Cox Richardson

⬆️ Everyday we are witnessing the alarming rise of authoritarianism in our country and everything feels "unprecedented." While many are focusing on the 2026 midterms, we know that our best chance yet to save democracy is the 2025 elections. We defeat the chaos by electing local leaders who will stand up and fight.

Join us to hear from historian and author Heather Cox Richardson as we explore how each of us can play a vital role in fighting back against Project 2025, starting with where we live.

Republicans are the only ones who can stop this. They are completely complicit if they let this madman go unchallenged. As for Brazil. If only we had jailed the orange pedophile when he staged a coup, like they did in Brazil. They have a spine - republicans could learn a lot.

We need to find a few republicans in Congress who have had enough… enough to stand up and vote against him. He is becoming more dangerous by the day.

Sadly, I don’t think there are enough Republicans that will stand up to Trump at his attack on freedom of speech. Kudos to Senators Ted Cruz add Paul Rand.

It sticks in my craw to give those two kudos for anything, but in this context, I’ll grudgingly agree.

Is Cruz making a feeble attempt to appear to break away somewhat from the MAGAt dicta before caving yet again? Or has he put his finger up to see if the wind is blowing away from MAGA?

I look forward to the day that there is a protest in this country like the one in Brazil that protests any attempt to give trump amnesty for his crimes; however, I don't expect republicans to be among the throng.

...but the RepubliKKKLans are expected to be cowards...those 155 Dems that joined them to approve the Kirk resolution are the disappointment for me...Crockett & the 58 who voted against the resolution are the kind of Democrats we need...

It is horrific that we have stepped backwards into time to the McCarthy era. Have we not learned from history? We need to unite and stand up and fight for democracy! I am hoping that Republicans grow a spine and work with all of us.

Yes Janet! It was the youth in the 60’s and 70’s who made a difference with the war in Viet Nam and this illegal regime is affecting this generation’s future! But then again too much apathy is on display at this crucial time in our country. I love to see demonstrations everywhere! LOUD AND PROUD 🙌🏻

I was shocked to see 2 NC Democratic state senators voted yes... Don Davis and Deborah Ross. Valerie Foushee voted against. One other democrat voted present. Wtf is going on. I'm also surprised at Hakeem Jeffries. I'm sick to my stomach.

I am going to feed this momma cat and her 5 kittens who appeared on my patio a few days ago. That will make my soul happy.
