Once again we all have that helpless feeling as the inevitable happens--Vladimir Putin finally murdered Alexei Navalny--and our grief turns to rage because here in America a supporter of Putin, an ex-president now running again, is a frontrunner in a contest that feels like insanity.

Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, half of Congress, and all of MAGA have no problem supporting a madman like Putin and the press can't bring themselves to make it an issue.

I don't know where we go from here if Navalny's murder doesn't become the catalyst for change. Putin is our enemy. Russia is our enemy. Any American who supports them is our enemy.

Trump has said out loud he would do the same to his opponents. Crazy that people believe him when he is lying but then don’t believe him when he does tell us what he will do!! Couldn’t be because he’s figured out how to get away with murder, could it??

Whatever it is, it has to stop. If America isn't brave enough to take down Trump there is no hope for us. It shouldn't be that hard. The evidence against him is overwhelming, both ethically and legally.

Every day he remains free is a day the rest of us need to worry about our own freedoms.

Eyes wide shut. Combine the 2nd generation of adults whose "education" omitted critical thinking and civics...plus the disproportionate pay gap between Haves and Have-Nots...plus isolation---driven by social media and pandemic---prompting anxious yearning among the vulnerable for a strong father-figure to lead and protect them. A vocal minority of everyday people feels out of control, scared and taken-advantage-of.

Ronnie we must never forget all those vulnerable Americans now lying in mass graves because of dru,phs lies and incompetence. One can't forget the fear we all lived thru locked in our homes our children and grandchildren forever affected. Hospitals and staff brought to the brink of disaster dealing with the refusal to provide the critically needed ventilators and supplies. It's a very sad day today evil has won again, my deepest sympathy to Mr Navalny,s family.

I know I will never forget!

And although I knew we would suffer from a loud mouth, 6x bankrupt under-educated, no experience malignant narcissist taking office when we already suffered a terrible recession ( so WHY had over the reins to this useless F_ck?

We are now the laughing stock of the world due to the malpractice of the GOP and this stupid man and his supporters.

We're not laughing, we're frightened. We're frightened of a country that has lost its way; a country that cannot make a normal arrest of an insurrectionist; a country that has a fellow idiot in Jim Jordan running the House Judiciary Committee; a country whose ex-president encourages Russia to attack Europe.

Indeed. The citizens are too, at least the ones with any sense of history or civic pride! I have lived abroad and then felt motified by "W". I can only imagine how bad it is now. And I am sure there are Trump voters that have no clue as they go on cruises that go to Europe or anywhere, really

Read Greg Olears article on Trump recently. Mafia, CI and more. Eye opening article.

Yes, Greg is in my paid list. You want more direct info on the useful idiots Russian complicity, read Craig Unger, his book: house of Trump, house of Putin or articles on Russian money "Laundromats "covered in articles from The New Republic. There's an eyeful.

Thank you! For both links. I have been reading Ungers work for sometime and when I read this book...well I had to take a break so concerning was the information. IF ONLY, the typical under-read GOP voter needs to read this!

The GOP is derelict in its duty to support Ukraine, and is allowing a murdering dictator to run their party of treason. Anyone who gives ‘aid and comfort’ to Putin is, by definition, a traitor.

I am saddened to hear that Navalny’s life has been lost because of the actions of Putin. I viewed him as an inspiration for the people of Russia and their hope for the future that is free and democratic. I hope others will continue to work to bring about positive change in Russia.

Trump and Putin share similar psychopathies; they have little or no capacity to feel the pain of others. In fact, functionally, they exhibit just the opposite, they take pleasure from the pain they inflict upon others. (Aka. anti-woke)

We know that Trump spent an inordinate amount of time in private (unrecorded) discussions with Putin. This was likely, the Russian master dictator/former spy & psyops expert, taking the junior dictator and novice at political type corruption, under his wing.

The die off of the greatest generation and the aging of the boomers has resulted in a dissipation of the collective memory of the brutality of fascism and how difficult it is to root out, once it has become established. Navalny's death is the direct result of Putin's fascistic corruption & his psychopathic disregard for the lives of others. Make no mistake about it, Trump envies his mentor, Putin, for his power to deal with his political enemies so brutally. If Trump were, by hook or crook, to win the presidency again, he would waste no time dealing harshly with his political enemies. (His brown shirts are already intimidating, school boards, election judges, electors, prosecutors, judges, state legislators, media personalities, members of Congress and infiltrating media, law enforcement & the administration of government.) Eventually, he would get around to purging even his supporters that do not 100% promote his agenda. It's what dictators, fascists, narcissists and psychopaths do, it's the nature of the beast.

The only thing Navalny was "guilty" of was speaking out against Putin. And we will be living under that same type of rule if Trump steals a second term. The fact that Trump and his MAGA GOP admire Putin turns my stomach. And now when Ukraine badly needs our help fighting Putin, the House has recessed! Recessed instead of addressing the Senate bill to fund our allies. Recessed instead of avoiding the looming government shut down. Recessed — or shall I say RAN like the cowards they are.

If you have not watched the CNN doc on Navalny, I highly recommend it, if you can, it's on HBO Max. I also watched the video Navalny made on "Putin's Palace." Navalny wasn't perfect, but he sure was inspirational and brave. I see people are demonstrating in various European cities. It's a serious loss and a very clear picture of what could be coming if we let it.

Thank you for writing this. The world is diminished by the loss of Alexei Navalny. Those who support Putin are as contemptible as it gets. Trump is a Putin fan and that should open everyone's eyes. Sadly, it probably won't. (Shared this on the four platforms I'm on plus restacked.)

Cavalry, was a hero here and in Russia. Putin makes it near impossible to assemble much less protest the war in Ukraine at the cost of 15 years in prison. Showing how change will not be torated and using propaganda to make people understand less and fall in line more. Which is starting to start familiar here. We are failing our democracy by tolerating Trump as a "candidate" ( which might not have happened had DoJ acted quicker) and we need to make it clear, we are on the road to becoming Russia if we accept Trump.

Putin absolutely murdered Alexei Navalny, but the Brave Navalny’s blood is on the hands of Trump, Johnson, Tuberville and all their ilk who praise Putin. They are also complicit in Putin’s slaughter of Ukrainians by refusing to pass aid. Abominable!
