Rep. Kelly To File Articles Of Impeachment Against Noem, Minneapolis Resists, and Rep. Suozzi Confronts Jan 6 Rioters At Their Sad Anniversary Party
Fighting back on every front
While the Trump regime’s chaos spins even further out of control, I’m glad to have today’s news brief for you. I appreciate you sharing part of your day with me.

REP. SUOZZI CONFRONTS JAN 6 RIOTERS
On Tuesday, Jan 6 rioters planned to “celebrate” the 5th anniversary of their insurrection by holding a big rally in The Ellipse near the White House. It failed miserably.
Only a few folks showed up. And to top it off, a large crowd of counterprotesters gathered—holding signs and making it known the Jan 6 criminals were not welcome there.
Dem Rep. Tom Suozzi went to the scene to confront some of the 2020 election deniers and stared them down. While standing shoulder to shoulder with Capitol Police officers, Suozzi asked: “How do you feel about beating up police officers? How do you feel about tasing a police officer? How do you feel about committing crimes?”
SO LONG, CBS
In a segment titled, “Marco Rubio’s ‘Moment,’” CBS Evening News wanted to prove just how low they’re willing to sink to please the Trump regime. Closing out the broadcast, they put up AI-generated images of Marco Rubio, as host Tony Dokoupil delivered a fawning tribute—trying desperately to sanitize the monster behind so many terrible things like dismantling USAID.
Dokoupil signed off, awkwardly saying: “Marco Rubio, we salute you—you’re the ultimate Florida man.” Who wants to tell Dokoupil that’s not a compliment?
MORE KENNEDY FALLOUT
The Trump regime has seen a slew of cancellations since its unlawful name change at the Kennedy Center—including a Christmas Eve concert with drummer Chuck Redd and two New Year’s Eve concerts with The Cookers.
Now, legendary banjo player Béla Fleck has canceled his upcoming show at the venue. The 18-time Grammy Award winner stated: “Performing there has become charged and political, at an institution where the focus should be on the music.”
I’m glad these artists are standing up for freedom, and I look forward to ripping Trump’s name off the building one day. It will surely be cathartic.
MINNEAPOLIS RESPONDS
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey responded to the killing of Renee Nicole Good in very clear terms. Frey stated: “They are already trying to spin this as an action of self-defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly: That is bulls**t.”
Frey also had a message for ICE and the Trump regime: “Get the f**k out of Minneapolis.”
And last night, a massive crowd gathered for a vigil in the neighborhood where Renee Nicole Good was killed. Protests were also held, where folks could be heard chanting: “Arrest the f**king shooter.”
MOVE TO IMPEACH NOEM
Following Wednesday’s tragedy in Minneapolis, Dem Rep. Robin Kelly announced plans to file articles of impeachment against DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. Kelly said that “Noem is an incompetent leader, a disgrace to our democracy, and I am impeaching her for obstruction of justice, violation of public trust, and self-dealing.”
Kelly added that Noem “wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area, and now, her rogue ICE agents have unleashed that same destruction in Minneapolis, fatally shooting Renee Nicole Good … Noem is violating the Constitution while ruining—and ending—lives, and separating families. It’s one thing to be incompetent and dangerous, but it’s impeachable to break the rule of law.”
Rep. Kelly is absolutely right. But strong moves like this only succeed when there is a massive and undeniable public movement like ours backing them up.
We are the engine that keeps this story on the front page, and we will constantly push every member of Congress to vote for Noem’s removal. And with your help, that same engine will propel our resistance movement to victory in the midterms.
