Will the GOP ever stop lying about Jan 6?

Expand full comment
Scott Dworkin's avatar

No.

Expand full comment
Peggy Freeman's avatar

No, Sam, I do not believe they will and what's worse, I believe they will continue to try and rewrite history. It is up to all of us to never allow that to happen. We must always call them out on their lies and deception about that horrible day. We saw what happened in real time and they can point fingers, deny and obfuscate all they want but it will always be remembered as the Insurrection.

Good point, Peggy! Yes don't let them get away with their lies!

Expand full comment
Peggy Freeman's avatar

We must call them out on every single one, Joanne! We mustn't let up. Yes, their lying is constant 24/7; however, they don't realize we have the tenacity to keep at it. To tell them right to their face they are lying and speak the truth ready to back it up with evidence and proof.

They haven’t stop so far! I thought he would when he won this time, but I now understand he is just too into wanting to be a high & mighty King and no one can change that.

Of course all his MAGA people just kep telling him how great he is and he can do anything he wants!! So why would anything change ?. We need to get him out real Fast!,,

Never. They’ve lied so much about it, they’ve come to believe their rewritten version of history is in fact the truth.

Stevens's avatar

Never. That even anyone believes their b.s. shows (yet again) that their lies have power.

That J6 has never been correctly and relentlessly described as the most damaging act of domestic terrorism in our nation's history, by the media as well as a majority of Dems, is infuriating.

Sam, the MAGA GOP will do what the Dumpsters demands! Our fighting back is making him scared, because everything he’s having done is to prevent the Epstein files from being released!

I believe rump is on a dementia tear - he’s out to destroy people’s lives, for whatever reason; Comey is in his line of fire, people are of no use to him. Woke means compassion and empathy and respect. None of which he possesses.

I honestly think Comey is more to distract from his terrible economic and public speaking performances, anything to distract, confuse and cause chaos. The more people are fighting fires on multiple fronts the more they figure they can sneak in before the elections. But I don't listen to the cynics because I know that there are actually more of us who want a calm, peaceful existence not the circus of revolving plates.

Yes I agree he needs something to distract from the Epstein files so now is the shutdown of the government and he doesn’t care that he will hurt Federal Government workers and will hurt those who receive healthcare benefits you there is nothing he will do so we will not see those Epstein Files, forgot about Little Mike and not swearing in the newly elected Congressperson from Arizona that 218th vote!

Hi, Arizona election worker here. Our election has to be certified first for her to be sworn in. Every vote has to be counted including all the Provisional, Conditional, and overseas mail-in ballots from service members. The election was Tuesday; they have ten days to check all the Provisional ballots. Then our Sec of State can certify the election.

Bravo for the Resistance! It does make a difference. Anti authoritarian history experts will tell you to get visible in the streets with peaceful protests. So find your closest No King’s Day protest on Oct 18 ((Saturday), make your sign and commit to show up. And thank the police officers that are working to protect your safety. You will be surprised that you may win over a few converts. It also reinforces that we are normal people, not radical, and that we are out to regain democracy.

Bravo to you, R, for this important reminder about October 18! We can and we will make a difference. Peaceful protests do make a difference and they do cause many to rethink their position on things. Thank you for this great reminder!
