I have sent letters to my Senators and Representatives but being in a very Red state I doubt they will do anything but put it in the trash. Every time I send this type of letter I get a return message that they won't accept that kind of correspondence. It has to be directed to the individual through their website. Also, I have been calling and writing to one of my Senators and asking questions that I'd like a response to. Several years ago he would write back to basically say my way of thinking is completely wrong. So I tried to be more specific and list questions I'd like answers to. But he doesn't even bother replying at all anymore. When he comes back to our state he meets only with groups he knows he won't get any backtalk from and no one else is notified that he's in the state. UGH!!

I send letters to my Senators and Representatives in TEXAS. Who are we kidding - They clearly don't care about their constituents and their assistants probably just throws the letters away or delete the emails. Cancun Teddy and Idiot John never reply...And well Rep Lutrell is just brainwashed - his replies aren't even about my letter and are just lies and misinformation. But I will keep sending, because I feel like I have to do something through all this chaos. Let the IMPEACHMENTS 2026 begin!

VOTE THE GOP OUT- FLIP THE HOUSE 2026!

Same. But I keep on writing and keep on calling. Aggravating them is all we can do at this point. Senator Scott responded with the exact same form letter for months. At one point I wrote don't bother responding if you're going to send me "this same letter in response." "Instead, put those efforts into actually doing something other than push your propaganda." Since then I haven't received any response at all.

My airport, Seatac, is one of those refusing to air that disgusting video and I couldn't be prouder. It IS a violation of the Hatch Act, so good for them. And really? Hi Debbie, there's another Blackout the System from 11/25-2

12/2. I know the last one was definitely felt by corporations, their bottom line is always money (I read the results on Substack) . I'm hoping this next blackout will have even more participation and let these corporations know we don't need them as much as they need our cash. Personally, my small daily contribution is to not shop at Amazon, Target, and other "big box" chains. Local shopkeepers get my business. I know I didn't really answer the question you posed to Scott, but hopefully I gave you a little inspiration in your personal battle against the system we're so entwined with.

You can practice a full-time boycott of the products and companies that are unethical, environmentally toxic, politically opposition, and just plain bad for us and our planet by using the "Shopping for a Better World" books by Ellis Jones, the website for "Goodsuniteus.com", and see Axios article "Shoppers are avoiding certain brands over politics," Feb 18, 2025.

Queston 1.- Noem is a disgrace to American citizenry. Every U.S. business entity that displays her propaganda should be boycotted and fined (come on Bondi do your job-yeah right!).

Question 2.- Hot mic is moment is another bit of evidence of Trumps malignant corruption of his presidency. Will it matter, NO because who is going to do anything about it. Congress, Media, DOJ-they are all failures in supporting the American People.

He just always tells who he is. And in his speech, he gloated about all the bombs bibi begged for and he gave him - and how well he used them to win the war. And how he should be pardoned now. It’s all disgusting, he and his cronies are disgraceful

And it’s disgusting that our world apparently needed this astonishing and depraved experience in order to get the civics lessons we need to move democracy forward. We’re definitely in the hard work of it all

So right about the possible benefit of this time, if we learn from it. I want to see Congressional Democrats of both houses outlining the steps to be taken when they get back in power. What's first, second, third, etc. How do they plan to correct the Supreme Court fiasco? Or, the separation of powers that must be enforced in the future. And all of the other parts of our Constitution that must be not just preserved but also protected from the kinds of maneuvering that the GOP is doing today. We absolutely need to protect voters rights, education, States rights to determine and use their own authority. And so much more. It is a lot, but that is why the Dems need to use this time to show us that they have a plan to get us back to an order we can recognize and find ways to protect it.

Expand full comment
Scott Dworkin's avatar

I think a lot of these things will require a Dem president and Senate as well. But House would put the brakes on Trump in a lot of ways. I think you have a great idea here Sandy!

Expand full comment
Sandy S's avatar

Thank you for saying so Scott. I just want to see them working together to assure us that they can work together. And to tackle this now! Rather than wait till after elections. I remember how Biden used his 'down time' to have his plan for bringing jobs and recovery from Covid ready to go. And he did do a good job of that whatever some might say about him. Dems need to do that too. Plan certain steps that may take time to set in place. But have all of that ready to get moving on, immediately. Unless the Supreme Court does something that reneges the all encompassing power they have given Trump, whoever is the next president should have such powers too, and be able to swing the pendulum back to a more recognizable America. That's assuming they are a Democratic president. Meanwhile, by the end of that president's term in office, some attempt must be made to restore separation of powers and less Presidential sole control.

Expand full comment
Wis's avatar

I like your eye on the future and call for dems to have a plan of action for what to DO after this is over, Sandy. Just scrambling once we get power back will not work - leaders of tomorrow must have a game plan today. And TALK about it with the public and each other!

Absolutely illegal to show a Propaganda film starring Kristi Noem or any other Trump government official in a party political docudrama in a United States Airport, international or domestic. Don’t forget, such a $million++cinematic film and its distribution, permits and installation costs would be totally at the expense of American taxpayers for Republican propaganda. It is outrageously illegal.

I would add the extra note: ICE patrols American airports and are now allowed by Trump, as we know, to pick up Anyone who strikes their fancy. Unless you absolutely must come to America, stay away for your own safety.

All international sports organizers: choose an alternative venue, not the USA, if you want to protect athletes.

1. The Hatch Act is crystal clear. Nuff said? Apparently not for this crew of miscreants. Wrong wrong. I was personally prohibited from recruiting people to be precinct workers (totally nonpartisan role) b/c it might look like an ethical violation. DJT & CO blatantly use their position and power for self aggrandizement. Unadulterated corruption.

If you are familiar with NYC, the No Kings rally I planned is on a busy neighborhood area at the corner of West 125th Street. We have gathered at this location to demonstrate for events but with 80 participants at most. I am doing everything I can to assure it is peaceful and safe for all but I remain anxious. The local police precinct has been well informed and there will be community engagement officers present. I have asked the precinct to provide movable barriers so that the areas for demonstrators can be delineated.

It is great that so many people are motivated to speak out against tyranny. Even if half the number of registrants show up, it will be a significant showing of people power. I have sent a “media advisory” to local news sources.
