There was a nice crowd in Tallahassee, but we still need to get more young and working age Americans engaged.

Charles Bastille's avatar

I talked to a younger person about this, and he said they're engaged, but more online because a lot of them don't consider street protest useful. I think they'll become engaged in the streets if the worst predictions materialize, but the main thing we need to think about is making sure they vote in the midterms, especially in districts that seem unreachable. The republicans want to gerrrymander themselves to a midterms win. But it's my belief that even red states can be won. The supporters of pedofascism are dwindling by the day.

I suspect the approaching tRump recession/depression is going to win us a lot of votes from the previously unengaged voters and finally disaffected MAGA.

An anecdote about Nike founder and legendary Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman: A farmer hires a mule trainer for his recalcitrant mule. The trainer hits the mule over the head, knocking it down. Mule stands up and the trainer hits him again.

Farmer grabs the trainer's board and says, dammit, I hired you to train him, not knock him senseless! Trainer says, show that ya don't know nuthin' 'bout training mules. First ya gotta git their attention.

Yeah, not politically correct but the gist is accurate. When the lower middle and lower class really feel the effects of his idiotic policies, their attention will be focused.

In the places like Troy, Michigan (Big Beaver & Rochester) it would be good to have someone with big speakers playing inspirational songs like:

It would:

add to the festivities, keep people there longer and attract more people.

FDR's words, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself," rings through today just as it did when he was first inaugurated. We, the People, could use an FDR right now to break up the monopolies, bring trust back to government, and rally our country against those enemies within who wish to do us harm. Stay Strong! 💪

I'd believe in our success more completely if the gun pulled on us yesterday at a NO KINGS rally in SC by a self-proclaimed Trump supporter was as widely reported as it surely would have been if that act of potential violence been a product of those of us on the left. Reporting seems to be VERY localized:

Frankly, this is the sort of story I'd expect to be hearing in parts of America (and everywhere, for the clicks.). I'm really not sure why it isn't being reported in blue state media. (Well, other than some people are afraid of upsetting the Man-Baby.)

You may be correct, but it just seems out of character for the media of today to pass on potential clickbait. Maybe we'll learn more in the next few days...

(I hope you've been doing well, JP4M.)

On here today I shared that in Pennsylvania there were MAGA people portraying Democrat protestors and presenting large, official looking signs to mislead voters.

Thank goodness the rallies were a huge success otherwise, as far as I know! Thank goodness for Scott sharing uplifting news and the opportunities for us all to enjoy it and share!

Well, JP4M...

The LAST THING this state of South Carolina might be is a "swing state". In fact, in the 2016 election (and perhaps in all 3 Trump elections), SC was considered to be the ONLY state on the east coast considered a guaranteed lock for him.

I think it's safe to say that SC will always be bright RED, as long as there are people of color to hate or slavery-based wars to re-fight. PA, on the other hand, is still in play. (My understanding is that Trump is now underwater is EVERY 2024 swing state!!!)

From Houston - there were 12 different Houston area protests; the one I was at - City Hall - had about 15,000, but there were thousands more marching in other area protests - even in typically red areas like Conroe & Montgomery County.

I’m glad to hear this because 13k-15k in a city the size of Houston is paltry. Now 100k in Boston-that’s huge!!!

I agree we’re going to win. As stated at the rally I attended in NJ:

First, they ignore you;

Then, they mock you;

Next they fight you; and

Then, you win.

We’re at 3. Keep going everyone!!!

Scott—please, please remind people that the best grassroots action they can take is to vote THIS NOVEMBER 4TH in whichever state and local elections for which they are eligible. There are 52,000 elections being held.

Big change starts on the ground in your school boards, local, county and state governments. Big battles over voter eligibility and against voter suppression can be lost for want of ONE more voice for democracy. If you can vote in California SAY YES TO PROP 50 (that's a shout out to all my Vigeant cousins out there!!)

An email arrived from a Vicky Ward Substack, titled “These ARE the Epstein Files”. She and a guest discussed records of court dealings which they believe are also kept within J. Epstein’s files because they involved him. They named a lot of banks and other names or possibly institutions which some or many people would recognize. I do not know if sharing her name and the title of that message are enough information to help anyone find the episode. I have not subscribed to her substack so do not know how the email happened to arrive in my box, but I am thankful that it did.
