I just want to say how proud I am of everyone who keeps pushing through weeks like this. Reading these stories, I kept thinking about how many people are quietly fighting for each other. The people we’ll never meet, families we’ll never know, moments of courage that don’t make the news but still change the world.

Keep up the good work, everyone. 💙 🌊

Thanks for being a big part of it all!

Thank you, Ms J! We’re all really proud of you, too.

If you’ve ever felt like the work doesn’t matter, I hope this week proves otherwise. We’re still moving things. We’re still protecting people. We’re still building something better than the chaos we’re living through.

You all make this possible. Your letters, your shares, your conversations. That’s the reason these wins stack up. I’m grateful for every one of you who refuses to quit, even when it feels like the fight is too big.

That is IT, Sam: the individual efforts, support, activities... they all add up and the force of 'we the people' comes roaring out! It's not "just one of us" - it's ALL of us - together. Yeah, the fight IS big, and so are WE the people!

Well said Sam!

For me it is courts pushing back against ICE especially given what happened in Maine. Also, I am not sure if you heard about Yeison Menjivar, a 27-year-old disabled man who was taken by ICE a few days ago. It hasn't been covered in independent media or MSM. Just on social media. My organization released a statement last night. And another disabled writer on Substack also wrote about it last night. I found out about it from Dom Kelly from New Disabled South. I know Dom. If he is posting on his organization's and his personal social media then it is actually creditable. Here is my organization's statement: https://disabilitycommunityfordemocracy.substack.com/p/urgent-notice-from-ceo-and-founder and here is the other Substack article on this issue: https://dcarvajalfl.substack.com/p/when-disability-is-ignored-has-ice?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=1y3nhe

What are the chances the referral to the Wisconsin DA actually leads to charges brought against Elon?

Scott Dworkin's avatar

That’s a great question. I think he will get charged and settle for some monstrous amount. But will lead to clearer laws preventing it from happening

USAID workers were in other nations and monitoring DISEASES.

Might they have spread the warnings about EBOLA?

The US AID has been DELAYED and PATHETIC in spite of the claims.

HISTORY remembers!

tRump got mindlessly hysterical when EBOLA workers were brought back to the US under crucial restrictions because he's STUPID! WE know how it's spread.

Those patients were treated in hospital settings that provided insight into the treatment.

When you're STUPID and SLASH RESEARCH FUNDING, other nations are soliciting RESEARCHERS causing a massive BRAIN DRAIN - the unseen consequences of STUPID.

How Musk’s War on USAID became a Death Sentence for Millions

by Bhabani Shankar Nayak

https://countercurrents.org/2026/07/how-musks-war-on-usaid-became-a-death-sentence-for-millions/

How did the dismantling of USAID reshape humanitarian assistance across the world? Bhabani Shankar Nayak examines the consequences of the agency’s closure under the Department of Government Efficiency led by Elon Musk, drawing on estimates of rising deaths linked to the loss of aid-funded health and nutrition programmes. The article argues that these developments reflect broader priorities within U.S. economic and foreign policy, while placing them in the context of debates over capitalism, imperialism, welfare, and global inequality. It concludes by advancing socialism as the only viable alternative to a system that, the author contends, places profit above human life.

I am so glad that more and more people are finally realizing that they can be a major part of the resistance by just being willing to see that what is happening around us isn’t normal and saying something about it. I repost your column everyday on other outlets and they seem to be being received more favorably than when I started. I know we can do this. We just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.

Rebecca Alvarado's avatar

thanks for that point; thanks for letting us know about Wisconsin charges against Musk the more we know the more we can follow and hold accountable

Every single one of the wins make my day. My only question is how can Blanche be appointed to anything if he’s being referred to the bar, doesn’t that halt his nomination?

Scott Dworkin's avatar

Hey Rose! Thank you so much!

No it doesn’t halt his nomination sadly. But it does make some Senators think twice.

Judy Sherwood's avatar

Right on, Rose: how can the US Attorney General be a disbarred attorney?

Scott Dworkin's avatar

Back in the day it would disqualify them just an investigation and rightfully so!

Good question!

With the closure of Alligators Alcatraz, I think it’s important to widely publicize the enormous cost associated with this regime’s campaign of cruelty. Even those hostile to immigrants (and brown people) should be aware of the insane amount of money being spent for each person “disappeared” into Trump’s prison camps or surreptitiously spirited away.

If it is true that Florida taxpayers are stuck with the bill for Alligator Alcatraz, this information has to be pushed by Florida Democrats in the mid-terms to turn Florida Blue. 💙💙🌊🌊🤞

No sane person who has a LIFE can be expected to scrutinize and research the ORANGE TURD's LIES,

but AARON PARNAS posted tRUMP's DOCUMENTS that prove RUSSIAN ELECTION INTERFERENCE FOR tRUMP'S ELECTION!

WE depend on INDEPENDENT MEDIA including SCOTT DWORKIN and numerous others to protect us with FACTS.

tRump referenced a VOTING MACHINE not used in the US!

The US CONSTITUTION gives ONLY STATES the right to control ELECTIONS and courts have re-affirmed that!

A MAD KING and RAVING LUNATIC does not govern ELECTIONS!

DillyDooBee's avatar

AARON PARNAS posted EVIDENCE that tRump shared indicating that RUSSIA INTERFERED IN US ELECTIONS AGAINST BIDEN to get tRump elected.

(and much else - worth reading)

The VOTING MACHINE daffy BOOB spoke of is used in another nation.

VOTING MACHINE in the US ALL USE PAPER BALLOTS! There have been numerous recounts - sometimes vote totals change because BALLOT MARKINGS are unclear - marks might go beyond the lines - VOTING MACHINES ONLY COUNT MARKS ON A BALLOT.

Let's not forget the FOX NEWS = FAKE NEWS settlement against DOMINION

tRump BOOB votes by MAIL - doesn't use a VOTING MACHINE or mark a BALLOT - how would he know?

$787.5 MILLION for LIES that were TAX DEDUCTIBLE - TAXPAYERS funded RUPERT MURDOCH'S LIES!

Fox News Lawsuit: Settlements, Cases & 2026 Updates

LawFold

By Owen Parker

On: July 11, 2026

excerpt:

Latest Update: As of July 11, 2026, no trial date has been set in the Smartmatic v. Fox Corp. case. The most recent confirmed court action came on May 8, 2026, when a New York appellate court issued a split ruling: it gave Fox limited additional discovery into how a federal bribery indictment against Smartmatic executives affected the company’s business, but rejected Fox’s bid to pause the case or vacate the trial-ready note of issue. The case remains on track toward trial in Manhattan, with no new hearing date publicly scheduled since the December 2, 2025 summary judgment arguments.

Last updated: July 2026

Fox News has already paid $787.5 million to settle a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems. That was the largest known media defamation settlement in U.S. history. And it’s not over. The network still faces a $2.7 billion active lawsuit from Smartmatic as of 2026, with a trial potentially on the horizon.

If you’re trying to make sense of all the Fox News lawsuits, you’re not alone. The cases involve voting machines, election lies, fired hosts, internal text messages, and a media empire fighting to protect itself from legal ruin.

This guide breaks down every major Fox News lawsuit. You’ll learn who sued them, why, what was paid, what’s still pending, and what these cases mean for the future of cable news.
