I’m sure all of us are concerned about you taking breaks so you can keep up with the barrage of attacks on our country by those who don’t deserve to live here.
I just googled Ohio and in a June 14 poll I see it was 50% as well.😞 My good news for you is I think my retired marine significant other who says voting is a waste of time and supported 45 is not down with 47. We actually had a constructive conversation after I returned from the No Kings event I attended on the 4th. I think he may have replaced koolaid with cool clear water.
He’s not retired. I misspoke. He only did one 4 year stint. Still, the disconnect was real. He defended this country during The last years of Vietnam. Had orders 3 times to be deployed. Made it as far as Okinawa before the orders were cancelled. I could hear and feel his sense of pride in serving. I feel a similar sense every time I step into an election booth and make my voice heard.
Thank you, yet again, Scott. I so needed to read this today. I am in the midst of trying to make a decision about friends and family in my life who are so blinded by Trump, and this is informing my decision— not yet made. These are tough times… you make it lighter. 🙏🏼
The best news I have is that I am going to have another grandchild. 🥳 But the poor baby will live in Miami. 😳 Must figure a way to get them out of the swamp. 🤷🏼♀️
Otherwise, I love this good news but wish you had pictures.
🇨🇦🇨🇦 Scott after the extremely disappointing passage of the travesty on Friday I’m realizing that it was theatrical. Every Republican was planning to vote in the end. The rest was him jerking us around so they could have a big laugh at the Democrats. I’m so sick of these guys. The Democrats did a noble job. And so did all of you independents. I thought that I would not look at any news for months but the deportations and the tragedy of the floods in Texas keeps me going. Fight back people. Don’t get discouraged. Their ‘time’ is coming. Next year seems so far away but it will come. We have to keep the faith’ Thank you Scott! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I'm not waiting until next year to get started - there are 3 states with important state races this November - NJ and VA will elect their governor and have state legislative races, while PA has retention races for the 3 "liberal" state Supreme Court justices. (If the GOP flips any of these seats voting rights will be at risk in PA in 2026 and 2028).
I'm all in for electing two kick-ass women as Governor who believe in public service rather than enriching themselves - Mikie Sherrill in NJ and Abigail Spanberger in VA. These are the kind of Governors we need to stand up to the Trump Regime!
I'm a big postcard writer, so I will outline some opportunities to get involved. But there are also opportunities to phone- and text-bank and to canvass if you live in-state or nearby.
Postcard options:
* Field Team 6 (https://www.fieldteam6.org/) is registering new voters for the NJ and PA elections (they ran out of VA names and addresses), as well as for selected races in 2026 - a couple of house districts plus statewide races in GA and NC. (Although the NC list was growing smaller by the day and may have been exhausted by now). Once you have set up your account on their postcard platform, you can request names and addresses along with a script on demand. I think they have set 10 and the minimum number to request at one time.
*Postcards to Swing States has their standard "social pressure" GOTV postcards for NJ, PA, and VA. They will send you the postcards for free (200 minimum but you can recruit your friends and fsmily to help you write them). Volunteers are responisble for covering the postage. These are write and hold until a mail date in October. Sign up here: https://secure.everyaction.com/En7wX4nReEK5r63DQT_AHQ2
Potcards to Swing States is also piloting a different style campaign (in VA only) that they are calling "News Boosting". These wll be held to mail on a specific date. There are 10 different postcard designs being tested and the mail dates are staggered. You can read about this experimental campaign here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-bM_poEOTHtEQ8Ip5OEJ3FOu5sEQ5dxpAb9DYI_1ax4/edit?tab=t.0
Postcards4VA (https://addresses.postcards4va.com/) just launched part 3 of their "Wake Up VA" campaign that is targetting women 40 - 90 who are registered but haven't voted in past elections. They currently have campaigns in 13 of the 100 VA house districts - I'm assuming the ones that which could swing either way. Unlike parts 1 and 2 of the campaign, there is no required postcard design. Once you have set up your account on their postcard platform (which is very similar to FT6's platform) you can request names and addresses on demand.
Reclaim Our Vote (https://www.centerforcommonground.org/postcards) focuses on BIPOC voters in southern states where they have traditionally been disenfranchised. They will be launching their first campaign for the VA general election later this month. They require new volunteers to complete an on-line training. In addition, you must use one of their approved postcard designs. I have purchased postcards from a minority-owned print shop that they recoomend, but you may be able to pick up postcards from a local coordinator to whom you are assigned after completing the training.
Activate America (https://www.activateamerica.vote/) is writing accountability postcards to voters in flippable house districts for the mid-terms currently held by Repulicans. Each campaign has a theme and encourages the voters to hold their GOP Rep accountable for voting with the Trump regime.
If you prefer letter writing to postcards, Vote Forward (https://votefwd.org/) has two campaigns - one social (directed to young lower propensity voters) and one political (directed to democratic-leaning lower propensity voters). Both are for the PA Supreme Court races. For Vote Forward, you print out a letter for each voter on your list and handwrite a personal message on each letter about why you vote. (You also hand address the envelopes). To get started, review this set of instructions:
The Texas tragedy underscores the failure of this heinous administration... how many more people will die because some of our citizens decided hate and bigotry was a better option? As a society, we must do better.
I had lunch with a friend from high school and a former Trump supporter. Although she isn't to the point of ranting and raving about him, her dislike has intensified, particularly over the inhumane treatment of immigrants. She is staunch Catholic and that has hit a cord. There's a crack in that bloc of the 60% of White Catholics who are Trump supporters and even though they by-passed and closed their eyes to so many other cruelties and injustices to vote for him, this issue is breaking through...finally. I'll take any crack and hope it keeps spreading.
As always, thanks Scott for your positivity amid the chaos.
My good news, I was in Thailand for the start of pride and my whole hotel lobby went rainbow. Wandered into a giant pride event at the mall. Then I came home and went to a super joyful pride event/summer concert. Some places are still celebrating difference and joy!
This is a really good idea Scott. We can learn more about each other.
My great news is that 2&1/2 years ago my doctors told me to prepare for a premature death. I was down 102 lbs from 150.
The Great news is that I’m still alive and kicking. I’m back up to 142 lbs. I’ve always felt that I know my body better than anyone, including Doctors.
"Because Trump doesn't read anything....the BBB was likely drafted by a network of conservative think-tanks and wealthy donors with Trump serving as a rubber-stamp. This is going to harm millions of Americans and inevitably create blow-back for the president and his congressional allies." A president that doesn't read. What has happened to our country????????????????

If trump hates it, I love it
I know that billboard he definitely hates
I love how you word your posts as much as the addendums that I depend on to be sure I’ve shared each issue with others.
Thank you Carol!
My news to share is that this is day 365 of us working without taking a single break. And I’m just as fired up as ever. Onward!
Woo! Onward!
Okay, but you guys should take a break. You and Scott are both long overdue for one.
I’m sure all of us are concerned about you taking breaks so you can keep up with the barrage of attacks on our country by those who don’t deserve to live here.
100% Where complete stillness can be attained!

Hope this holds for you. We need everyone we can get to stand with no kings
Yes we do!💙
Heyyyyy! Progress Lisa!
Great work Lisa! One convert at a time.
👍…and if he’s not aware, your retired Marine may not be ok with this:

Van Orden will have a tough reelection and hopefully will lose here!😡 Thanks Scott!
I live in Tucson. I may have to take a ride up to Phoenix to check out that billboard! ✊
Heh. I'm in Massachusetts and I wish I could do likewise!

Thank you so much Scott. You are a balm in the midst of horror.
Thanks so much Dr. MacNeil!
The Texas tragedy underscores the failure of this heinous administration... how many more people will die because some of our citizens decided hate and bigotry was a better option? As a society, we must do better.
The Texas part isn't coincidental either.
We must
