Obama is correct. We have to fight back, even when we might feel powerless. A great place to start is Boycotting Disney in all its manifestations. Cancel trips to Disney(land and world). Cancel bookings on Disney cruises and resort properties. Cancel subscriptions to Disney streaming streaming services. And boycott Disney cable and broadcast programming, particularly sporting events, like NFL and college football games. It may not bring an end to American fascism by itself, but at least you’ll save some money you may need and it will make them pay the price for caving in to fascism.

While you’re at it, if you haven’t already done so, drop subscription to Paramount, Amazon products (Prime, Video, and Music) and of course, don’t buy a tesla. Not even a used one.

The place I get my hair cut is in a mall, and for some reason, the area in which I park has become a storage lot for Teslas. Actually had to drive in between a couple of rows of them last week and felt as if I needed to go through a car wash. Might have even put my car through it, too.

The incompetence of Trump’s minions is so obvious that despite their loyalty to Trump—they are actually becoming a huge liability for him. His numbers are tanking! And now the Kimmel suspension from ABC is another ‘visible’ atrocity they’ve perpetuated. But I think this one will wake up a portion of Americans who, along with watching Colbert silenced can really see—this is getting out of control. And of course, Colbert and Kimmel will not be silenced—they’ll find ways to get louder!

I agree completely. I also have written my Congressman and Senators and demanded they bring Brendan Carr in front of them for questioning and an investigation into his use of power for extortion. The more we see these minions or AH's, (whatever vernacular you like to refer to them as) in front of Congress and the Senate, I fell more people will wake up and realize that our democracy is in dire straits! I stress on my re-stacks that people respond by writing their Reps and make their voices and intents known.

President Obama’s comments are completely correct, I agree with them

Also completely agree with the two former CDC officials

RFK and Dr Oz have no business being anywhere near the CDC

Lastly Kash Patel is hiding the truth about the Epstein files and we the people need to keep the pressure up peacefully to uphold Democracy

President Obama’s comments were exactly right. Oh, how I miss him! We must abhor the violence against Kirk while saying that we have a right to disagree with him. Itotally agree with the CDC calling out Kennedy. He must be removed before many people die due to his ignorance. One small example stood out for me personally today. He wants to stop vaccines for Hepatitis A and B. Any decent physician would tell you that without these a person will die if infected with Hepatitis C. Almost everything out of Kennedy’s mouth is false and will be deadly if not countered.

⬆️"Almost everything out of Kennedy’s mouth is false and will be deadly if not countered".

We have long been hearing about the digital divide because of the lack of high-speed internet in rural areas. I see the same thing happening around vaccines.

Democratic governors are stepping up to make vaccines more widely available than the guidelines put forward by RFK Jr's anti-vaxx flunkeys. They are also making sure that insurance companies operating in their states are required to pay for them.

Red states,on the other hand, are likely in for a perfect storm when you combine an existing rural hospital crisis exacerbated by cuts to Medicaid with the anti-vaxx rhetoric being lapped up by MAGA.

Good for Obama for reminding us of the horrible things that Charlie Kirk said, notably that women in leadership positions didn't have the brain power for them and they had deprived a more qualified white man of the job. I'm fortunate to be retired, so I won't lose my job because of my reactiom to Kirk's death. Kirk was a contemptible. racist, misogynist jerk. Will Trump's goons find a way to withhold my Social Security payments to punish me for my thoughts and words?

Every time I see the Congress grilling someone, or listening to a 'whistleblower,' it confirms to me that nothing is going to change unless we change it.

I am NOT recommending any sort of violent uprising against the government.

But there is an uprising that will change things, and it begins with us stopping buying anything outside of vital necessities.

I don't see that happening, because as a people, we are greedy consumers, of just about everything.

Bottom line, until we bring the corporations to heel, this will not change. And as yet, not enough of us are hurting to make that happen.

Unfortunately, America is greed. The entire country believes it has to spend all day, every day, part of some fabrication that living beyond your means is part of being American. It's really sad. No values, no clue, and not able to think for themselves. This is how Autocracy takes over.

And we are talking order of magnitude here. Let us not delude ourselves that 1,000 or 2,000 fewer people going to Disney World is going to make any difference to Bob Iger....even if we could get that. I am not saying that we shouldn't make individual choices regarding our economic and political views, but let's not think that we are going to topple Disney or ABC by not going to the Magic Kingdom.

I do not know what will work. When 8 Democrats in the House vote with the Republican majority to allow 14 year-olds to be tried as adults in the District of Columbia in a clearly racist action aimed at Black youth, then not buying mouse ears is hardly the solution. These Democrats will probably whine, "I'm in a tough district" or "I only won by a few percentage points so I got to SEEM to be tough on crime." But I say, "No you have to seem to offer an alternative vision of America, one in which racism and sexism and dominance by the rich and the powerful is not driving us all to ruin. You have to point out the illegal crimes that Trump is enacting every day."

And as for President Obama, whom I admire, his statements are mild mannered NPR style "viewing with alarm." He said as quoted by Scot Dworkin today, "I can say I disagree with the suggestion that my wife or Justice Jackson does not have adequate brain processing power.” 90% of Americans probably don't even know what he is referring to, i.e. Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump's racist slurs regarding the intelligence of Black people in general and Black women in America. I'd be cheering if Obama said, "We have a clear racist in the White House and in the leadership of the Republican Party. These men and women do all they can to disparage Black Americans, distort our shared history, and excuse heinous cruelty, indifference, and brutality toward people of color. When is this going to stop. When are all Americans going to work together to bring the country back from the abyss."

Obama also made it clear that extremist views “were not in my White House. I wasn’t embracing them. I wasn’t empowering them. I wasn’t putting the weight of the US government behind extremist views.” So he looks like the good guy. Big deal! The race is not between Obama in 2004 and Trump 2024. Racism and sexism beat Kamala Harris and namby-pamby descriptions of our desperate times in which good ol' Barack can play the statesman are not driving the debate.

Core values like Freedom of Speech? Here is my letter to Disney Prez Bob Iger for his unconscionable sacking of Jimmy Kimmel:

Mr. Iger - let me be the latest of many who are congratulating you for your reprehensible acts of cowardice. Because of rich cowards like you who are putting money and power over Country, we may very well end up living in a Fascist Dictatorship.

I used to read the ABC news website every single day - now I don’t and will never consume their content ever again. (Same for CBS.) I used to wait until Disney movies came out on DVD and buy and watch them at home. Now - never again.

I live 3 1/2 hours from Orlando and I think it is safe to say the place you are least likely to ever find me again in Disney World.

It's we the people who buy their products, entertainment, watch their programs. We the people are getting more and more fed up and refusing their crap. Doesn't it seem like by bowing to Trump, they are cutting their own throats or money supply? Not everyone will stop using, buying or viewing, but they could experience losses. I hope. By choosing Trump, they are hurting themselves. Seems a stupid move.
