There is so much information now on many of their blatant "high crimes..." and with today's report Scott, more judges exclaiming loudly that these are illegal acts - that it seems like there must be some way to wake everyone in Congress (even the blind elephants) that it's way beyond the critical time to delay removing the Nincompoop-killer & his VP & others.

Richard Waddell's avatar

They are wasting so much time, so much money, to go after

revenge-targets...good grief! Sifting through data for non-existent

crimes INSTEAD of doing the work for our country.

Debi's avatar

And the money they are blowing on all this stupidity is OUR MONEY - TAX PAYER DOLLARS - being blown on absurd personal vendettas WITH NO REAL LEGAL BASIS simply because they have access to our money to pay for this garbage. Are they doing the work they are sworn to do, pursuant to their oath of office - NO, THEY ARE NOT.

netta glaser's avatar

Close all of the Detention Centers!!! The people in charge are committing crimes on a daily basis. Abusing the prisoners and starving them to death. I don't understand why we are paying to house immigrant, criminals etc.

HarrisWalz FTW 2024's avatar

Keep just one open for all of the people in this regime who should be in prison already.

GeorgeC's avatar

Call them what they are: Concentration Camps.

That should make even the cowardly GQP slime pucker a bit.

Words matter.

What does it tell me?

It tells me that even some people who were put in power by Republicans are still willing to uphold basic legal protections instead of just going along with political retaliation. That gives me some hope that not everything is completely broken.

The other thing giving me hope right now is seeing regular people actually win. It reminds me that when enough people push back together, we can still move the needle.

Frank Talk, Jr.'s avatar

Thanks, Ms Jonington, and I agree 100%! RESIST! DEFY! PERSIST!

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Well put, Ms. Jonington!

Megan Ross's avatar

MORE good news! Adding to that, I read in Joyce Vance's Substack column, that 101 former attorney general's have asked for an investigation into Todd Blanche! TRump is losing. We are winning!

🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Scott Dworkin's avatar

more on that tomorrow!

Patti Scott's avatar

Yes, that is encouraging

Wis's avatar

I read that too, Megan!! Let’s hope and pray the bar listens! That’s just the NY bar, isn’t it? I don’t recall…

Amy's avatar

Yes. NY is where Todd passed the bar and is therefore licensed.

Richard Waddell's avatar

Legal neutering, up NEXT!!

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Good news, Megan!

Cherae Stone's avatar

That’s beautiful!!

Blanche (And Bondi) need to be disbarred for their criminally unethical actions.

Sam Jones's avatar

This is what happens when people keep fighting back. A judge stopped Trump from going after Walz and other elected officials. Another judge killed his voter purge scheme. And the Senate finally told him to end the war in Iran. The regime is taking Ls from every direction.

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Right, Sam. The regime and the GOP are stupid, corrupt and cruel. We see. They think never in their greed grabs. All their actions seem to do is raise opposition to them daily. We are sick of it. Yes, the tide is turning.

Richard Waddell's avatar

They're probably watching 1930's German newsreels, accentuating the

goosestepping martial precision.

THE TIDE HAS TURNED!

Read the ELECTION RESULTS posted on THE DOWN BALLOT!

PROGRESSIVES defeated the ANTI-DEMOCRACY AIPAC & their clones, as well as ANONYOUS DARK MONEY PACS.

The last time REPUBLLICANS controlled CONGRESS, they totally shout out DEMS - if you were paying attention, you would have noticed PUBLIC HEARINGS during which REPUBLICANS spoke first, then adjourned the hearing, shut off the lights & mics.

DEMOCRATS were relegated to BASEMENT ROOMS with no communications equipment.

REPUBLICANS were BARBARIANS then and remain unchanged although more sophisticated at the internet has improved to conceal their SCAMS.

The media is apparently obligated to quote FETTERMAN...would someone please tell him

that PENNSYLVANIA is recruiting his replacement?

NO SINGLE REPUBLICAN HAS SPOKEN OUT AGAINST ICE GESTAPO ABUSE, INJURIES, KILLINGS, LIES, DEATH TOLLS IN ICE GESTAPO DETENTION CAMPS, INCARCERATED CHILDREN, DETAINED US CITIZENS...SILENCE!

FOR-PROFIT prisons serve MOLDY FOOD, DEAD WORMS, LIVE WORMS, CONTAMINATED WATER that makes people sink, overcrowded conditions....MORALLY DEPRAVED REPUBLICANS are not only silent, but increased funding - with no changes.

The Republican Party's moral collapse under Trump is complete | Opinion

excerpt:

The Party of Lincoln is dead.

What remains is a movement organized not around principle, ideology, or governance, but around a man. Not conservatism. Not fiscal restraint. Not constitutional fidelity. Not even patriotism in any recognizable form.

The modern Republican Party has become a cult of personality whose golden calf is a doddering old man singularly consumed with grievance, vengeance and self-enrichment.

Recent events alone offered another grotesque portrait of what the party has willingly become.

Loyalty has replaced conservative principles

The GOP's moral center collapsed long ago

This is no longer a political movement operating within normal democratic boundaries. It is an ecosystem of permanent grievance fueled by celebrity worship, paranoia and transactional loyalty. The old Republican language of limited government and moral rectitude now survives only as decorative wallpaper pasted over naked opportunism.

And perhaps the clearest sign of decay is this: the movement no longer even pretends to hide the enrichment.

A president financially entangled in massive trading activity while simultaneously wielding extraordinary governmental power would once have triggered weeks of congressional hearings and breathless outrage from conservatives. Today, it barely interrupts the applause. A Justice Department creating compensation mechanisms for political allies would once have been denounced as authoritarian rot. Today, it is marketed as justice.

The moral center collapsed years ago. Now we are simply watching the structure cave inward.

I suspect historians will eventually look back on 2024 not as the beginning of Republican dominance, but as the bright final burst that often precedes collapse. Stars, after all, grow brightest shortly before they die.

There is still noise. There is still money. There is still power. The maps will continue to be redrawn. Billionaire donors will continue inflating the lungs of a suffocating party. Trump will continue demanding loyalty oaths from trembling Republicans desperate to survive another election cycle.

But something fundamental has broken.

The Republican Party once sold itself as the steward of institutional stability, personal responsibility, and fiscal seriousness. Today it operates as a vehicle for one man's appetites and one movement's resentments.

The Party of Lincoln did not evolve. It decayed.

And like all decaying things, it mistakes volume for vitality right until the very end.

It’s taken a year and a half of watching Trump decimate our country, but I’m hopeful that the tide has turned.

Brenda Doherty's avatar

I feel more hopeful everyday that the Trump aura is beginning to diminish. His favorability is crashing and the Republican officials up for reelection in November can read the tea leaves. If the Democrats take over the House, Trump knows his Presidency is essentially over. I look forward to hearing the name Trump less and less everyday. I just hope the United States won’t experience a terrorist attack with Bill Pullte as DNI. What could possibly go wrong with an unqualified person in that position?

Stephen Brady's avatar

The big problem is that he will continue to try to rule by edict. And, there is a necessary, but unfortunate lag time for judges to rule. And he has learned that the Courts have no real power over him. His lackeys will continue to carry out his wishes because they know he will just pardon them. I am betting Todd Blanche already has his pardon in a safe-deposit box somewhere. One of the most important things we have to do is extirpate the Presidential Pardon from the Constitution.

Frank Talk, Jr.'s avatar

The power the judges have is to continue giving the Dworkin Report and all true Patriots the ammunition to: RESIST! DEFY! & PERSIST!

Patti Scott's avatar

Well my hope is trumpy can pardon him but we can still take his license to practice law. Boy the one thing I want changed it the pardon process,

Wis's avatar

Really well said, Stephen, and far more coherent and eloquent than my post attempting to say something similar. Fabulous!💕👏. The rate of trump’s damage doesn’t match the rate of reversal or repair, because he keeps breaking the law and doing whatever the hell he wants, and practically by the hour. Our system is purposefully designed to move slowly; it can’t keep up with a deranged madman. We have to slow (or stop) the rate of his wrongdoing. 25th amendment, anyone?

Stephen Brady's avatar

We will have much to accomplish when we get tRump dislodged from the Oval Office. We have to put Constitutional guardrails in place including several ways to eject an unsatisfactory or dangerous president. I am in favor of a complete rethink of the Executive Branch with a dramatically restrained Executive or maybe an Executive Council.

Wis's avatar

👏. Brenda and you, Stephen, et al: say it LOUD! Yes!

Brenda Doherty's avatar

There are many safeguards we need to strengthen. The writers of the Constitution didn’t anticipate a dangerous man in the Presidency with a compliant Congress and Supreme Court.

Lucy Johnson's avatar

If Blanche is charged with, and convicted of, crimes in state courts, trump has no pardon power there.

Colleen Wetteland's avatar

Republican-appointed judges won’t go along with the regime’s retribution campaign?

It tells me they have ethics and will uphold THEIR Oaths of office! Also that not all R's are fascists like donnie and his regime! So glad they are standing up for the rule of law! NOW it would be nice if some R's congress people and Senators would do the same!

Debbie Garcia's avatar

It also tells me that they aren't taking bribes from the regime.

Kim Nesvig's avatar

What this tells me is that Congress as two more counts for Trump’s much deserved impeachment and removal from office. It’s getting to be a long list of clearly illegal, corrupt and anti-constitutional acts by the Felon in Chief. I don’t expect this Congress to act, but they have ample justification, should they ever opt to evolve spines.

Marcus Stevens's avatar

They have spines. What they don't have are the same things that Trump lacks. Ethics, morals and the ability to put the American people first over themselves and their thrist for power and money.

They need to all go just as much as Trump does.

LEJ's avatar

Congress are boneless chickens - no spine in the lot.

Cheri Johnson's avatar

Thank you to the judges holding the line!!

Karen Hall's avatar

Is this what hope feels like??? Just curious. It’s been so long …

Sandy S's avatar

Thanks Scott for starting this day off with how well our judges are holding up the law of the land to protect us from the creep-in-office and his "yes boss" followers. These judges are holding our country together right now, and they make me very proud to be an American!

L.D.Michaels's avatar

So now we see Trump emerging from his political sewer to blackmail Congress and the public by threatening to deny them housing relief unless Congress votes to prevent them from voting.

But since Trump’s favorite practices of using threats, extortions and shakedowns didn’t work with Iran, perhaps Congress and the American people will draw some lessons from the Iranians.

Mindy Boggs's avatar

News like this gives me HOPE!

Andrea York's avatar

Nice job, Scott! Keep it up! Stack 'em up! Then lock em up!
