We must stand together and push this horrible regime out. All of them. It’s time. Let’s clean house

Reading this with tears in my eyes and fire in my chest.

Real veterans — the ones who actually served — showing up and speaking truth while the draft-dodger hides.

From the Marine calling out the corruption to the 80-year-old Vietnam vets standing in 90-degree heat… this is what resistance looks like.

Thank you Scott for making sure the rest of the country sees it. We’re all in.

Resistance! - Defiance! - Persistence! I am a U.S. Army Vietnam-vet in my 80th year who received 2 Bronze Stars & a South Vietnamese "Cross of Gallantry"- not for anything heroic, just for doing my job as Company Commander in a Combat Engineer Battalion. The "trumpster from the dumpster", first American-Dick-tater-Wannabe, should be dumped into prison for the rest of his cowardly life - a despicable life of draft dodging; and ignoring professional public health professionals' advice that would have saved hundreds of thousands of American lives in 2020; and insulting John Mcain and millions of other Veterans; and illegally using the U.S. military to murder civilians; and treasonously attacking our nation's Constitutional Presidential Election certification on January 6th 2021!

From a fellow a Vet; ‘Thank you for your Service to our Country’. I’m from a small town that saw dozens and dozens of my Brother’s schoolmates ship off to fight in Vietnam. Some never came back. Some came back forever changed. Some came back irreparably broken. I try to remember every one of them.

Thanks Julie! I am not a sucker or a loser. The USMC gave me more than I gave back! It wasn’t always pleasant, but it remains a gift that rewarded me every day for the last fifty + years. It gave me one insight more valuable than any other; we are a lot more alike than we are different. Our dear leader might have benefited from learning that.

Absolutely true, Frank! Trump is a disgusting opposite from every veteran who knows about what sacrifice and service really is, really means!

My only deceased veteran is my father who fought in WWII so I honor him today but also honor all the brave men and women who have fought for this country. DJT hugs the flag but we should never forget his lame “bone spur” deferments and the horrible things he has said about veterans who were captured or maimed. They should be honored, not made fun of.

It is reprehensible, just like him.

🙌 yes. This is exactly what Memorial Day should look like.

The 5-time draft-dodger got reminded — loud and clear — who this day actually belongs to.

Momentum is real. The coalition is growing. Midterms are coming.

Proud to be a brick in that wall. Onward!

Judy Sherwood's avatar

Yes, Sam! A salute to democracy and honor to our brave military, past and present. At least for today: Let's keep the focus on THAT, and not be distracted by the words or actions of the maniac-in-chief.

I watched PBS Memorial Day Program. I cried. Dedicated Americans who love & serve their country. Juxtaposition against unqualified Hegseth & Trump & all the others in this regime who only view wars as a way to serve themselves financially & emotionally while none of them give a damn about our country. We also have them destroying our country’s strength, world reputation & its financial strength while they take & take & take.

These ruthless, corrupt people need to get out of OUR WHITE HOUSE

It is truly a shame that we abandoned tarring and feathering!

Couldn't agree more, Karen. Well stated!

Honoring my dad, a tech five in World War II, just a grunt from Wisconsin. But he earned a bronze star! My hero! 💪🏻

My father-in-law (not with us anymore) fought in the Battle of Normandy as a 19-year-old. He survived and was a Purple Heart recipient. I want to remind everyone that the majority of our troops are young. My son is on a NATO base, he’s 24. These young people are fodder for this regime, and the families who offer up their sons and daughters to fight for freedoms are also to be commended. This is a tough space to be in. It would be nice if human beings didn’t feel the need to kill each other.

I love your remembrances. This is what is important today.

So many Veterans to honor today! Unfortunately the boy in the White House has no honor.

As taps is played to honor our brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, I pray their memories will live on in the hearts of all Americans.

All three of my brothers served in the Korean war and one of them made a career of 27 years and served in the Viet Nam. Thank God they all three came home. They are all deceased now. My oldest brother was in the Navy, on a destroyer, during WW2 Our father served in the Navy after WW1 was over. He was too old when WW2 began, plus he had five children at the time. BC

Today, I am honoring my grandpa. He was in WWII. He had an accident in a jeep he was driving and wound up with a metal plate in his head. He was not killed in combat; however, he fought for this country, and I am so proud of him! My Air Force veteran sister pointed out to me that today is for honoring those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I do honor them. I am in awe of them. Their bravery and devotion to this country touches me. I love America and all she has stood for these past 250 years. I get a lump in my throat anytime I hear the Star-Spangled Banner or taps being played. I will fight and resist this evil, corrupt regime for as long as I have to because not doing so would bring shame on those brave men and women that came before me and gave their life to defend and protect America. This dark period in our history will pass and there will be better times ahead for all of us. On this Memorial Day, I thank those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so that I could continue to live in a free country, and I will fight and resist to keep her just that - a free country!

Beautiful, Peggy. So grateful you posted this.

I love your last name, too. It fits.

My dad and his younger brother. Dad from WW II and a paraplegic from war. Purple Heart recipient and his brother West Point grad and then instructor at West Point, 3 tours of Nam, and position at the Pentagon with gate named for him at Ft Belvoir. True hero’s who gave their all. We must keep fighting for our democracy and country. It is worth it. These gaudy tings that drumpf is trying to do to our capital must be torn down when he goes to bring back the dignity to our White House and Arlington National Cemetery. He treats our tax dollars like his personal bank accounts. It is truly evil!!!!
