Yes, I would support a general strike. I am fortunate since I am retired it won't affect me that much. Those who possibly can, should refuse to go to work, refuse to buy from any corporate entity (keeping local shops and farms supported is important though), and refuse to stream or watch legacy or corporate media. And use the time to call our Congresspersons.

I like your plan. As someone who relies on public transit in a rural area, I would be stranded without transit service. So that is a little worrisome. But otherwise I am all for avoiding using big box stores and other giant corporations. And that includes most of the media giants. Look at how they all virtually ignored No Kings Day. And I am not just talking TV, NY Times has shown very little No Kings Day coverage even for NY. And so it goes around the country. We all cut back during Covid, so we know we can live without 90% of the crap they sell. That goes for the big chain restaurants, too! Be good to yourself and give all that garbage up! :-)

When the system’s been hijacked by billionaires and Bible cosplay, refusing to play along is the moral act. The ancestors already showed us how: stop feeding Pharaoh until he notices everyone’s gone.

And to the folks clutching pearls about “paid protesters,” the only people getting paid to show up are the politicians selling your rights by the hour.

Welp Scott, after watching the Poopy Plane King AI video, I thought I had seen it all, then I thought about it, and it suddently occured to me. Trump isnt smart enough to generate an AI video, so its VERY clear that Little Nazi Miller is running Trump's Truth Social account.

But as my husband keeps saying "they don't care". All they care about is power, money, and inflicting as much cruelty as they can. Their goal is to turn this country into a White Supremist authoritarian country, Christian as they define it, not as Jesus exemplified. I do support a national strike because that will demonstrate our determination to save democracy by hitting them where it hurts--in dollars.

Sandy S's avatar

The thing is, they have no idea of the consequences of their actions. No long view at all. Very little awareness of things like how our food happens. Or how Boeing keeps a workforce. Or how airports work. Or how farmers need to know what weather is expected, and we have a group of losers throwing a monkey wrench into all of that and so much more. Don't even get me started on our economy.

I think we should strike by picking one or two businesses per week to boycott, but only the trump ass kissing ones. That might get their attention. Maybe start with amazon?

I agree that we should be selective, for instance, I switched over to Lyft after I found out that the Uber CEO and Uber the company had donated to Trump. Same thing with Bezos. And then of course all of the Jimmy Kimmel connected companies. So don’t hurt the mom and pops, and local businesses.

I didn’t say it very well I guess, of course we shouldn’t boycott companies connected to him now but I meant we should boycott companies who got him kicked off the air in the first place, like Disney etc. and it did work.

I’m already very selective and a knowledgeable person about these things. And I never watched Jimmy Kimmel until they kicked him off and then I recorded him so it would register as a viewer. It made me mad so I canceled some peripheral stuff I had on cable, like Paramount and all that. So you see it was a strategy.

I would support a strike, but not sure who to strike? I did cancel my Disney subscription after the Kimmel event. But not sure if I should end my Paramount and Amazon accounts. Amazon I use quite often. I could go a month or 2 without these things. I like to watch South Park on Paramount. That was the main reason I didn't cancel it with Disney. I just support a bunch of the people fighting against this lawless administration.

I can't even keep track of who I'm giving to. I know I subscribe to this report, the Bulwark, Meidas Touch. David Pakman, BTC, Lincoln Square, Indivisible, and several others I can't remember them all. I may subscribe to Texas Paul, hope your coffee is as good as mine. I made up signs for myself, my wife and one of our friends who went out with me to Princeton NJ on Saturday to join NoKings. I will fight this administration until I'm dead or until it is gone. Hopefully they are gone before I'm dead.

Thanks Scott for all your reporting. At least you will know when the time came you were on the right side of history. If Ukraine can fight Russia for 3.5 years and stop them we can stop this for another 3.5 years!

Thank you so much, Scott, for this Great News!

I would support a general strike and believe that it may be necessary! The goal should be to rid ourselves of this dastardly regime! Someone in the comments said that the king of fools is not smart enough to make an AI video. I agree with that assessment! He is having a lot of trouble conveying a coherent thought. It is just plain weird that these people keep trying to frame others for what they are doing! These silly bastards think that we are so dumb that we will buy the bullshit that they are selling! It is really sad to think that so many people actually believe this nonsense! They are so desperate…….

I have seen several posts concerning the “ceasefire” in Gaza that Israel is already violating! What the hell? Where is the corporate media? It is really sad that they can no longer be counted on for the truth! They have become an extension of this regime! So sad, really!

Thank you for all of the work you are doing! I really appreciate your hard work and dedication to exposing the lies from the king of fools and his court!

I would totally support a general strike. With Trump’s new AI video of him dumping feces on protesters, this administration continually amazes me just exactly how low the bar can go. I feel like the Republicans in Congress, who are preventing the Epstein files from being released are interfering with a criminal investigation and should be tried as well.
