VP Kamala Harris is a Force to be Reckoned With
Republicans are about to be reminded of that fact
One thing Republicans should learn is that they should never ever underestimate Vice President Kamala Harris.
First of all let me say this plainly: The VP wasn’t picked to be Joe Biden‘s running mate just because she personally represents much of the diversity within the Democratic Party.
It’s important to remember that VP Harris was a successful prosecutor and state Attorney General. Then Harris was an up-and-coming Senator, once considered a strong contender for the presidential nomination. VP Harris is also a proven rockstar on the campaign trail. In the Administration, VP Harris has served exceedingly well in the multifaceted role of Vice President as an administrator, legislator and advisor.
In the VP’s role as a trusted guide for the President, Harris is inspirational, stoic, and never afraid to take down anyone who tries to throw cheap shots at Biden.
The VP shows up in difficult situations, asks meaningful questions, responds thoughtfully, and honors those who have entrusted Harris with their opinions.
VP Harris is an outspoken champion for regulating gun ownership, strengthening our alliances, and protecting reproductive freedom.
Now VP Harris finds herself in the middle of a barrage of hit pieces, and we all must understand the significance of what is really happening.
After the attacks on President Biden’s age and the scam impeachment attempt failed, desperate critics have placed their sights on a new person to attack: VP Kamala Harris. Despite the VP’s overwhelming qualifications and successes on the campaign trail, there are even a few unhinged political commentators calling for Harris to drop from the ticket.
A recent awful Washington Post op-ed—which I will not post the link to here—said “I propose with all due respect that Harris step away from the ticket.” Now right-wingers are using this hit piece to spread an unfounded rumor that VP Harris could actually leave the ticket.
In the op-ed and in some publications since, there have been repeated ridiculous claims of Harris being a drag on the ticket. But what’s worse is the overtly stated and very sinister reason behind this recent uptick in criticism: The claim that the VP was originally chosen as a running mate ONLY because she is a non-white woman, and that Biden is “stuck” with VP Harris now, because to replace her would “alienate” the base.
This blatant sexism and race-baiting is wrong, and it’s dangerous. It echoes the very biases that Trump uses to divide us. It’s a part of the same failed and false tactic that says Biden is too old to lead. Something the fiery State of the Union speech put to rest.
Setting the racism and misogyny aside, these claims that the VP is a drag on the ticket are completely untrue. Not only does VP Harris represent the base personally, her policy is in lockstep with America's core principles. In fact, all signs point to Democrats winning big in November in part because of the women and independent voters that VP Kamala Harris speaks to so well.
Critics of the VP have astonishingly little faith in the American electorate. They believe the slim number of voters who are too racist and/or sexist to support Kamala Harris outnumber those who won’t vote for Trump because he is a danger to democracy. I’m here to tell you those critics are wrong. There are way more of us.
Let me be as clear as possible: VP Kamala Harris is not leaving the ticket. No serious person is posting this or even considering it. It is nonsense.
So just like we’re doing here, I challenge you to call out these shameful tactics for what they are. Replace them with a different narrative, one that anyone paying attention would have written: Kamala Harris is an amazing Vice President, and we can’t wait to see her and Joe Biden in office for another four years.

I grew up in the Bay Area with a front row seat to Vice President Harris's ascent. I am a huge fan and would trust her 100 percent to run the country. It would be a big honor.
Never underestimate the power of women who are tired of the bs.
